Tiptronic Switch

as the title explains, the steering wheel switch for tiptronic isnt working (the one next to the gear box)

i had some neon work done which they had to run wires through the car and near the box so wondering if its just a cord thats been knocked outta place and can easily be connected again or if its something deeper.

theres nothing wrong with the shifts (apart from loss of 4th gear when its not warmed up) but back to the main issue, any help is appriciated

Pop the shifter surround out, they probably didn't plug the switch back in.

As for not having 4th gear when cold, that's normal.

thought it'd be somethin simple like that. will give it a go this weekend. hopefully wont break anything lol

ok so i tried to take the surround bit out but it feels like its gonna snap something, the screw behind the ashtray isnt there so is there any advice on how to lever it out and if theres clips that could snap?

IIRC the bit immediately around the shift should just pop out. Have to take the knob off though and I think put it in D. Other than that it should just be clips.
