Just wondering if anyone has used one, and how the knock side stacks up against the gizzmo and others. And how fast/accurate the a/f side of it is.

They are about $950 delivered from nengun, which is pretty good value if you add up a gizzmo knock box, and a a/f meter.

They are very good, ive had a few jap cars come over with them installed but bear in mind a quick search and you can now pickup the gizzmo one for about $500 (usa) and the wideband for $150 ish... market has dropped its pants in the usa :P if it is a permanent install in one car then the HKS unit is a nice one stop solution and its a got good ergos as a dash mounted unit.

TBH i have been looking @ buying one and implementing it into our dyno (with longer flying leads for the dual knock and 02 sensors) as the unit also has a analogue knock output... would be nice to plot it against afr / lambda to have a visual as well as a audible warning.

I had the gizzmo wired in to the dyno but it required a usb connection to function so im logging on two pc's.. one in the car the other was the dyno unit... no point as it was too bulky.... so i removed it and got the gibson developed knock box which is just as good as the gizzmo unit but has noise cancelling headphones, only drawback is it has no outputs... and is $1100

would you run bosch sensors, or do the oem ones do the job?

knock sensors?

if so i would look at the application, ie fixed or multi car setup. For me it needs to move from car to car daily so i would use new bosch donuts (which wire up different to nissan oem donuts) and this allows me to pick locations on various cars as they are easy to make adapters for..

If it was to be a permanent install i would look at the ecu, if it has knock feedback or similar i would fit up a secondary pair of bosch sensors. If the ecu is deaf to knock sensors i would remove the std ones and fit new bosch ones to the factory position.

yeah knock sensors. Thanks for that, it'll probably live in my race car for 90% of the time, the ECU (PS2000) is knock deaf. But I want to run a knock input into my racepak dash for logging and warning.

I don't mind having to mod the wiring to change sensors. Good to know the HKS will be a good option.
