Be keen to see what speed/time my GTR will do down 1000m! I'll be in it if i can get around to sorting the CAMS license stuff out

i reckon I might go to this, not often you get to open it right up and hold it flat......

Im trying to negotiate with the missus as this is her birthday haha

im positive without taking wind etc into consideration my car would top out at 280-290km/h due to gearing.

Better increase that rev limit by 1000rpm then ;)

$103 for CAMS licence which last 12 months and will enable you to join hill climbs and more. hardly a big cost in the realm of modified cars and if you join 1 or 2 events its paid for itself.

I bet you sustain high rpm on the street longer then what you would for a 1km run. its not boucing off the limiter in each gear you simply get to rev through each gear. with a factory limiter set and mild mods your not going to blow things up. infact id be more concerened about the force of the wind on bodykits etc for realtively standard cars.

they obviously dont want cars running super high speeds eg 350+ as they wont allow burnouts so obviously less chance of people running full slicks etc

certainly hope this event becomes an annual event!!

I'm more worried about oil starvation. I don't know how this event would compare to a track day, but keep in mind RB's, high RPM and oil staying up in the head :P

On a private (enough) road the 33 didn't have any worries finding itself at 206kph before I backed off. Admittedly it's hard at that speed to pick up more, but it was effortless enough to get there in the first place.

And my bodykit is BEAST!!! bahahaha yeah I understand that point though, I was having the glass on the windows slightly peeling itself away from the door seals

You can literally grab the wires/pins that lead into the Seperate TCM and wire them into the corresponding pins in the GTT Engine ECU. You could then in theory Nistune it. I realised this when everyone put it in the too hard basket and I actually looked at the f**kin R34 manual. This is after I had previously had a seperate aftermarket TCM controller in my original N/A chassis car and a very built gearbox from a GTT, running a seperate Haltech engine ECU. I ran into this issue when I re-shelled the car into a GTT shell, so my aftermarket TCM was no longer plug and play, because the loom/modules were not present. I was pretty livid when realizing just how simple the original fix actually was. It sat for 3+ years at various workshops trying to find a solution. In practice none of this is a worthwhile idea for a lot of reasons, generally surrounding the shitness of the NA auto, the autos in general that come with skylines, and the NA engine and lack of gains. The gearbox is specced for the 2.5L N/A and barely at that level. If you have to pay anyone any money to do any of this, that is money spent on manualizing the car and it's not even close in terms of a comparison. Learning to drive manual is simpler than going through the pain of dealing with the N/A gearbox and he'll have fun to boot.
    • Semi-correction to my blanket statement that you can't bend rubber hoses. It seems that you can get most of a result, by doing as this guy does. I wouldn't promise that the bends will stay in the hose forever. I think if I found they wouldn't stay, I'd get a larger hose and cut some 90°s out to go over the bends I wanted to be in the smaller hose, as a reinforcement.
    • Just a heads up. Mine has just failed. When i turn the car on it just reboots everytime then the word "Android" shows up then goes to a black screen. I've aksed the company i got it from for some help but it's passed their 90 day return so they wont help. I have to swap back to my old system this weekend 😭
    • Does the car have to stay auto? If so, you might be looking at a ZF swap in future.
    • Yeah its tuned relatively conservatively being dynoed at 525hp with every bolt on and top end of the motor built wtih HKS vcam and springs etc.
