Gizmo73
CTP insurance provides compensation for other people injured in an accident when you or the person driving your vehicle is the driver at fault. Australia wide, 24 hours a day, your CTP insurance covers: your passengers other road users, such as drivers, passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, motor cyclists and pillion passengers injuries caused through the use of a trailer It does not cover: you for personal injury if you are the driver at fault in an accident damage to property or other vehicles CTP Insurance is compulsory, and must be taken out when registering a motor vehicle. From the above, it will not go on your car, but rather driver experience (re: AGE), as well as the density of people and structures within your most common driving area, thus providing the chance (re: risk) of 3rd party accident (re: POSTCODE) i think a lot of people are lucky that it doesnt go on vehicle, driving history, etc....(then again - some are unlucky) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/36283-ctp-green-slip-where/#findComment-724822 Share on other sites

Tosh
CTP greenslips don't vary very much no matter who you go with.. I am with Allianz and pay $575 it is MOSTLY based on your age so at age 22 mate I don't like your chances of getting anything cheapr that around the $550 odd mark Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/36283-ctp-green-slip-where/#findComment-724872 Share on other sites

HoeTrain
Here's the comical explanation frequently used in my industry... You see both Third Party Compulsory (CTP) “Greens Slip” and Third Party Property Damage “Also a green slip” are printed on green paper. That’s the colour you get when you mix blue and yellow together in equal quantities. In the insurance industry we use these terms to help costumers decipher between what they are liable for and what they are entitled to if an accident may occur. Most people think that if they have paid their (CTP) they will be covered for the damages of the vehicle or phone box they side swipe, where in fact they are only covered for the injuries of a third party involved.
