my r33 gtst is un happy at the moment. the second water related hose has let go within a month. i am almost up for a timing belt, water pump change and she is due a service and tune. on the way home today after replacing the water line at the rear of the engine i was loosing power under boost, the revs where fluttering up and down and there is a groaning type noise . i also noticed that the vacuum section of the boost gage was registering lower than i have ever seen. is this miss firing spark related and can anyone shed some light on these problems thanks

Did the engine overheat at all?

Did u bleed the colling system after u replaced the blown hose?

Is the problem always there or intermittant?

engine didn't over heat i had only driven a short distance and realised something was wrong

the colling was not bleed but there is a fair bit of rusty looking residue where the hose has sprayed in the engine bay

the problem is intermittent but its only just started happening.

when the first hose went i thought i may be up for a head gasket but got lucky when it was found to be a split under side radiator hose. all the hoses are a bit crusty getting on now.

any idea ?

might be worth checking the oil and coolant. make sure neither are milky. also look at the coolant with the engine running. if there are any signs of bubbles then you may have a blown head gasket (also if you are losing coolant).

there is no milky looking stuff, radiator could do with a good flush. hope im not up for a head gasket as well as the rest of the things that need attention.
