Hi everyone,

I recently purchased an R34, and my ultimate Skyline is the R32 GTR. I know there is conversions to put an R34 front end on an R32 but can you do that the other way around? I love the rear end of the R34 but want to see the R32 GTR front end when I come towards the car. I havn't seen any other conversions like this on R34's is it simply too hard? Or would I be better off saving up and buying an R32GTR. I'd like to have a unique car but if it's too expensive and hard I wont be able to afford it.

I have looked around online and havn't seen any cars that have this conversion or conversion kits. Will it simply be too hard?

Thanks for any tips or info guys.

The hard lines of the 34 will mean even if the 32 front bolted on, the guards would have to be customised to look ok.

Theres next to no chance it will bolt up either, I say let it go and buy a GTR :)

yeah fair enough then
I suppose I could sell it then buy an R32. There's one in great condition for 18500 atm but... With finance I wouldnt be able to make all my money back. Guess ill just have to wait for another one in great nick come by again. I think that once you get the moulding right to make it fit properly it would be a pretty unique looking car. Would I have to get custom moulds done for it to fit the GT front end or go about doing something else?

I just wanted thoughts on how to make it work or if anyone has ever encountered someone doing this themselves.

3a1fd311.jpg
fcb2c55b.jpg
4c282ecd.jpg
75d8600f.jpg Edited by MACR34

Mate i am pretty sure noone has ever done it and noone ever will..at least i hope they dont

So before you go doing anything rash lets consider a few points ..

1. A 12 yr old gtt is going to be in a lot better condition than any 20yr old gtr. No gtr under 20k is in great condition

2. Your dad works at Nissan and recomended you the car..this is a GOOD thing, i cant imagine any father recomending his kid a dud car

3. Performance >looks..A gtt with nice suspension and wheels not only looks awesome. But will perform great.. Too many people spend too much time worrying about how their car looks so they spend thousands on bodykits only to have a car that not only performs like aids but now looks like it too

Put simply

spending 5000$ to put an older cars front end on your car =not cool

spending 5000$ on suspension and rims = really cool

give it time and the front end will grow on you, with a few suspension mods and a bit more power you will fall in love with it, in the meantime just enjoy driving it and stop worrying about what it looks like shallow hal, cause to me it looks like you have a really nice car.

NB car does need wheels and lowering to look cool though ;)

Thanks it's a great car blast to drive it's already had a few engine mods so I'm enjoying it to the fullest ATM.

I was just wondering if it was possible or if anyone had done it before, I'll let it grow on me so yeah.

Thanks guys I thought it would be impossible guess I was right :)

its ok i wsnt really as angry as the emoticon implies :D

I also agree with Charles on the bar..apparenlt he has some thingys on the wing that look cool too..

im thinking front bar, wing, lowered on some nice rime like ssr professors or similar, something with some chrome lip anyway and black or dark centers, black chrome would look good, then maybe even some CF here and there and it would look awesome Just get some decent comfy seats inside...

Waddayarekn?

Are the rims i really lIke I really like the original r34 wing so I won't be touching that I do like the do luck rear end but it's a bit over to top so im looking for something a bit less... Not sure but I'll have a look around. I'll need to lower the car soon. I want the car to look mean be fast but not impractical (being scared to go over speed bumps) I had an 1994 GSR lancer on 12 pounds of boost great thrash car but it was too low and impractical for day to day driving.

    • Cheers, and cheers for sharing so much of the build and also sharing the glimpse of what turns out to bring a lot of us poor decision makers together haha. I do recommend learning more about how to manage it, if not considering getting a formal diagnosis. The discussion with the psychiatrist I got my diagnosis through was quite eye opening, things I'd not even considered to be ADHD related and hadn't mentioned were things she asked about out of the blue and were common themes with people with my flavour of ADHD. It's not a label for people who are hyperactive and ill-attentive, there's more to it than that and some of it can be much more challenging or damaging - though there are of course two sides to the thing, and a lot of the stuff we have to go through and work on to live with it make us effectively "better" at other things as well. Aside from the fact that there is some argument I could have a bit of ASD seasoning in there (came up during the diagnosis, and neurodiverse things seem to not stay as a cookie cut) I suspect you need to learn more about ADHD if you are puzzled about how hyperfocus could possibly apply. I *do* personally use "superpower" with quotes deliberately, but it's 100% an ADHD thing due to the exact reason that lack of focus is also an ADHD thing... Loosely speaking the inattentive side of ADHD isn't the inability to focus, it's the inability to control where the focus goes. Not being able to sleep because brain is more interested in thinking about a stupid thing I said to a girl I liked 30 years ago, not being able to focus on work because my brain is more keen on putting together the torque management strategy we're going to try out with a drag car next weekend, not being able to focus on a conversation with someone I WANT to listen to and respect because there is a flickering light in my peripheral vision. If I could just stop work and build the torque management setup right there and then I'd not hear anything else until it was done.
    • Maybe you should do some more reading. Google positive effects of ADHD and you'll get your answers. One of my personal downsides of ADHD has been talking before I think. Maybe you have it too?
    • Excuse me for butting in....but which part of ADHD can be considered a superpower? I would have though it far more likely that some ASD comorbidity is more likely to be contributing to an ability to hyperfocus on something. ADHD being aimed somewhat in the other direction. My shed looks like your shed. My whiteboard list of unfinished projects has entries going back 15 years. I know what you're talking about - I just struggle to connect ADHD to the results being discussed.
    • Thanks for reaching out! It's a blessing and a curse at the same time. I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even comprehend. A recent pool build is an example of that.... I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
