Hello :wavey:

Ok i have an idea for a big event for the SAUWA club, its kind of a trading serect/skills day, i bet most of yous dont understand what i mean so i will explain; a day where we hire out a park or use a workshop (sst ect) and have ahole heap of members (the more people the better) come and down and share there skills with out memebers. We could also have a few people bring tools, so if people want to install parts ect we could all join in and help.

I will also try to get a few shops down, so maybe we can have some parts ect on sale or something like that, if it is at a workshop that may be hard, but then again we could have a dyno comp also on the day.

AFter all the trading ect we could have a nice BBQ then a night cruise to finish on the night.

I know im not a person who does the event ect, but i will be more than happy to get it all done (ring the places ect ect) as i really wanna do this.

Now i dont think that the day will work unless we have alot of people coming down maybe around 40 or 50cars would be perfect (i would say no more than 70 depending on the place where we hold it). If i get like 30 or 40 people for it then i will set a date (late april or maybe later) and get everything all fix up for us.

I have no idea about planing a cruise so maybe, someone can help me out there (more than happy 2 print out the maps ect)

Any input would be nice :)

Thankyou Mike

ok just found the old thread and i through i add what it said in here:

Skills Swapping, Sun 21 Sep 2003?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To confirm what has been discussed in the general WA section about a skill swapping day, I will just give a brief overview of the aim of the day.

A day where members can meet in an open space and we basically help each other with some of the simple things mechanically, or electrical, cosmetic, whatever you can think of, on our cars. A chance to do all of those little things you have been putting off.

Everyone bring their tools, their skills, hopefully we will find a place with BBQ facilities. Bring beer.

Some of our mechanically minded members have offered their services, and will show people how to do simple things such as fluid changes, break pad changes and some simple stereo fitting, speakers etc. YOU WILL REPAY THEM BY PROVIDING THEM WITH BEER, or a token payment (a fraction of what you would have paid someone else to do it).

Please post here if you have a relevant skill to add to the day, or if you have something you would like some help with. Hopefully we will all learn something.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- if we plan on cruise better easy on the drink :)

- People are welcome to sell stuff (i think this is a good idea, as people can buy them install on the day)

the main idea was to have a "welcome mikey to sauwa club" cruise but then thinking about it, i through not many people would turn up :) so i better make it more appealing for the rest of the members as some have a problem with me hehehe :) (just jokinn )

Mike - that is a great idea. Feel free to speak to dan and myself about it if you want to go ahead. It may also be a good opportunity to raise some funds for the club!

Can I suggest maybe putting up a poll to get an general idea to see if this event will attract any interest??

    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
    • yeah, there's a country that recently started importing Skylines, I blame them.
