Sounds like a good idea to me. A lot of people (read: scumbags) hide behind privacy legislation for civil matters...friggen leeches of society.

There are TONS of unregistered cars on the road. All it takes is someone to have not paid their rego for a week. The percentage of unregistered motorbikes is much higher though.

I thought there was some timeframe for doing that and you get a letter telling you to take your memory pill.

So is it that one day overdue and your a bad guy?

Good thing my wife does these things I forget my own name by lunchtime somedays. jk

but on the other hand if you are stupid enough to have a vented bov that they can hear from a mile away and you have one of those shit full ultra loud exhausts that is clearly illegal but you like it coz it gets you attention then maybe you should get out of your car with your pants around your ankles coz your gonna get arse raped!

1 day? try 1 minute, it actually says on your rego form that it expires at midnight, after that you have no rego and no insurance, as far as im aware there has never been a grace period, that is just another old wives tale that people like to believe for some reason.

ya so there a grace period to pay the rego of 3 months after that rego canceled and u start again rwc and such.

but it illegal to drive it during that period as u have no insurance and such.

plus big fines and such

If you go through any police operation without a EPA/defect - You've had a good day.

Buy a lotto ticket would be my best advice in that situation as lady luck is on your side.

Go in with a golden rule - you are never safe :D

I went through a breatho the other weekend when they were pulling everyone over. Red P's, Skyline, "Breath until I say stop, have a good night" other than that they haven't even looked at me twice.

I never have trouble at breathos...they always look too busy to be pulling people over for EPA inspections.

As for rego, you get a couple warning letters about the upcoming expiry...but if you drive after midnight on the night of expiry, you're unregistered. And yes, you have 3 months after that time to pay it or you have to totally re-register the car again.

I know this because I've been paying rego on a car that has existed on paper for the past 5 years lol. I always use the grace period...but then the next rego payment notice comes 6 months later!!!

yeah i never had problems on p plates with my sti going through booze buses. Which is why i was wondering if it would be the same with these types of operations.

Well I worked my operation Drive right 2 and we did about 5 hours on Prices Hwy. Not as busy as I expected but we still ended up with about 5-6 Suspended Drivers, One driver with no interlock, about 10 unregistered, 10 unlicensed, 10 NOU about 10 other fines and 3 Drink Drivers. Also had one offender wanted for Burglary as Whereabouts on his car.

There was no EPA but the Sherriffs had a field day with about 50 cars pulled over for owing fines of about $100,000 in total.

I know heaps of people who drive around unlicensed. In fact, of everyone I know I think I'm the only one who didn't drive once during my suspension.

I have one mate who has lost his three times and just kept driving like it didn't matter.

When I had a chat with the guy running the ANPR system I was told there was someting like 600,000 unregistered cars, 200,000 unlicensed drivers and 200,000 suspended drivers on the system. I was amazed that the numbers were so high.

by that, you mean, caught?
