Had my PowerFC stolen recently. 95% I know who did it, I'm just wondering if there'll be a serial number on my box that I can match to that on the unit itself, and where I'll find that number if it exists? Apologies if this is the wrong section of the forum, it would increase my forced induction performance if I can retrieve it though? :D

Yes, I'm talking about the original cardboard box, unluckily it's at my parent's place in Albany, but there is a 7 character number above the barcode (similar to 414-N011). Not sure if there's a warranty card, it was imported through Greenline... There's also a FCC3 XXX-XXXXX number. Unfortunately my poor mother is a little confused by all the Japanese on the things I left inside the box [probably including the warranty card, got a photo of yours with the important stuff blanked out of course?], might need to drive down to Albany :|

If it helps, it is for a R33 GTR.

how does someone steal a power fc, im presuming it wasnt installed in yoru car

It was :/. They broke in and removed it! Wouldn't be surprised if it was another Skyline driver, how else would they know it was actually worth money... Luckily I had a spare ECU sitting around or I wouldn't even be able to start my own car.

On the plus side, I have a lead on the theif, just not sure how to get it back off them.

physical persuasion?

just go and take it?

Only got their mobile number though. Have an idea about where they live too, but not well enough to break into a house and rumage around for my stuff...

But back to my original question, is the only place I'll find my serial number on the warranty card?

I thnk there is a serial number on the yellow card? Not on the actual box tho

Ok that's good, my mother assured me that there was a yellow card inside the box. Getting it sent up on Monday and I'll see what the police (or my fists? :whistling:) can do.

The 7 character number (414-N011) will be the Hand Controller Model No

Normally there will be a spare silver sticker in the box when you buy it with the Power FC Serial, which from memory will be along the lines of:

PFC RB26 XXX-XXX (Older Power FC's)

PFC GTR33 XXX-XXXX (Standard Type - Less Recent)

PFC GTR33L XXX-XXXX (For L-Jetro normal version Power FC)

PFC GTR33D XXX-XXXX (For D-Jetro Type)

Hope this helps, good luck

    • Do you think the guys in Penrith are install the E85 Kit?
    • Thanks Pac!   I will reach out to them!
    • Yes, but 2 things of the top of my head, 1. Legalities of nitrous on a street car. 2. No chop chop. I fully understand that there's much cheaper ways to make power, and whilst a wet 50 shot is fairly cheap to install, bottle fills are expensive, and bottles always need to be refilled, and nitrous also has its own inherent issues with reliability, and tuning, from my experience of others using nitrous, it doesn't take alot to lunch a engine real quick if something goes slightly wrong when spraying, if I wanted a big chunk of additional powers, a spooly boy would make alot more sense, disregarding the additional engineering, supporting mods and other logistical issues of sticking a spooly boy on a car that came naturally aspirated from factory  In the end I'm not racing for sheep stations, and I don't really care if people make more power, or are faster than me, or spend less, or more than me, the only thing the car needs to do is drive around and make me smile, which it is doing now Really, I just want a shiny new intake to look at when I'm cleaning the engine bay, and of course, some more induction doorts, and maybe even that 5kw for that elusive 200hp cherry on top that I might get If the FAB9 intake plenum, TB and air filter box thing doesn't eventuate for whatever reason, Plasmaman do one, not as fancy looking, and a fair chunk of more cash is required when including the TB and other bits and pieces that are required to install it, but, it is another option that is available to me if FAB9 one does fall down (but I really, really.....really, want the FAB9 one though) TL;DR. You want what you want
    • Been so long since I have been here, seeing SDU is dead. I had that problem on my gtr in 2006 but luckily there was no engine damage,it was inspected by Hytech Engines, race bearings and extended crank collar put in and that was about it. Hopefully yours is sorted now.
