8G Wire Gauge Overkill For 044 Pump?

Im about to wire my 044 and have seen people use 8g audio wire which i would think is overkill since its a 50amp wire where as the 044 is rated to 15amps im thinking of using some 25amp auto wire. Thoughts?

manni i did it. it is Heaps overkil but my thought was to put in a dual pump system if I ever decide to go more power. do it once, then leave it

yeh, I ran mine under the car and wrapped in wire protector(that rippled black stuff) and just followed the fuel lines.

Mines easy battery in the boot surge tank and fuel pump in the boot.

What did you to attach 8g wire to the relay, because I cant find spade connectors for 8g wiring only ring did you just solder it strright onto the relay terminals?

I ran 8gauge cable for my Sard pump aswell, I went to jaycar and bought spade terminals that fit the relay, then opened up the end where the cable goes into so I could squeeze the 8gauge cable in, clamped them shut, abit of solder and tape and it's 100%

It's impossible to find terminals to fit 8gauage wire and fit on the standard 30amp relay

Yeah thats what I was planning on doing.

i had spades that fit both, and as above i used some shrink n its fine,, i just used a 50amp fuse and ran it inline with the pump

yeh a BBQ would be good!

nah its pretty safe where it is and how its enclosed.. trust me i wouldnt take the chance with a spark and fuel
