So to start of the debate, I am currently stripping and re-building my GTST for racing next year.

Previously the RB25 was replaced by a built 26/30 combo and was putting down a lazy 310KW at the rears. In the future I will be running a similar combo, but more likely on a 0.82 rear hosuing for the GT3582, rather than the current 1.06. However i am planning on giving the car completely new wiring as part of the build, so I am looking to change from the current Link G4 ECU to another, as it is currently set up for plug and play on an RB25 loom.

So what i am looking for is peoples contributions to which to look at. I am not interested in :

Launch Control

E-throttle

And the unit needs to be a wire in option rather than plug and play. Particularlry interested in those members that track their car and aren't using Vipec or Link.

Hard to help when you don't say why you are ruling out a Link (new very powerful wire in versions available). Other options include :

Nistune

Motec

Because having used a Link I have a good idea of what they can do - and zero experience of anything other than a PowerFC - therefore I would like to see members feedback on what they have used for race applications. There is also a large Link/Vipec supporters posse on the forum, so would liek to hear a bit about what esle is out there.

Not to say i wont use a link - just options.

OK, so to be helpful here - have you actually found any limitation with the Link? It sounds like you aren't using it to its capabilities as it is... I would normally recommend people move from things like Nistune/PowerFC etc to a Link if they want to get more motorsport orientated.

If you are building a serious race car and need all the datalogging/control/whatever you can think of then really a MoTEC is the only thing I can think of which will be worth changing your setup for, and will have good support in Oz.

Comes down to what amount of logging etc you need.

If you really don't need much then a PFC isn't going to be any better/worse than anything else.

But if you need 40 things logged then clearly it's not the best choice.

Yeah PFC for me. The only feature I am missing is a data logging dash, and the ability to switch maps on a switch for different fuel . If I wanted that I would go haltec + dash for sure.

Lets face it they all effectively control timing and fuel, and all have some sort of safety features/correction tables in a 3rd dimension to deal with unexpected heat, bad fuel etc.
