Ive been looking at twin turbo pipes for months and months. they range from the nismo $2500 kit to the cheap, thin (Mod city)$300 kit.

Nothing reasonably priced and good quality.

So i decided to make a kit with a mate (The welder)

I have used 80mm x 3mm and 60mm x 2mm aliminium, lobster back style.

Ive made sure thay there is nothing to modify and the std airbox/air intake fits. Ive designed it for a R34 GTR, but id imagine it will fit any RB26

Ive also made sure there is a lip at the joins so the silicone doesnt blow off.

there was plenty of time spent designing not to mention the time to weld it.

this one was the first, a prototype to make sure it fits and did what it was supposed to do.

please feel free to tell me what you think and any improvements i could make, etc

mike

Instead of running weld around the ends of your tube buy yourself a swaging machine and push a nice bead into the ends instead.

Welds work but look horrid and unprofessional.

I have a really good swager which cost me a small fortune but you can buy cheap ones from eBay for $300 that do a decent job.

A few tacks around the end is more than enough to stop the clamp coming off. Perhaps once you get a lathe you could make a basic bead roller as I plan to. (when I get time)

Your welds look good but the lobster bends are different angles which makes it look a bit weird, try and keep to one cut angle, narrower the better. Looks great otherwise.

Yeah your right ill try to keep to one angle, was hard to keep one angle though with all the std parts I had to miss. Without them there it would of been easier.

The greddy/trust ones are good, I guess I wanted something to do, plus were not lobster back, also can't use std air box and intake

Hi Mike,

by any chance, could you make a set for sale? Or maybe point me in the direction of the car "mod city" kit? Not looking to spend a fortune on a nismo or greddy kit. Hope you can help, cheers!

Darrel.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365.
