hey guys.

my engine light came on, so i took it to the mechanic and he tested the ecu. he said it came up with faults regard the coil circuit. i just wanted to know what that meant so that i can fix my car straight away. my mechanic didnt tell me anything else part from that. not even the error code.

thanks

error code 21 will most likely be coil packs, double check that with the mechanic to see if it was the coils, also coils take about 2 hours to change with the parts so you should be good to go in about 1 day. if you have a non turbo like me, you might want to get 1 2nd hand coil pack replaced instead of 6 new iridium ones as that would cost u 600+ instead of about 200 bucks.

i've just rang him and got no reply!!! i just wanted to know what other things would be affected in the coil curcuit for the engine to come on. and yes its a non turbo. if it is the coil packs i was thinking of getting the yellow jackets coil packs? (anyone know if they are good)

cheers

  • 5 weeks later...

could be o2 sensor crank angle sensor or spark plugs, most likely coil packs

Would a faulty o2 sensor cause the engine light to come on?

i took mine (RB25DET NEO) to a mechanic and got the same code result,

He got the same code reply and changed a coil pack he thought was faulty and all the spark plugs.

i still get the problem, the car runs noticeably rougher when the light comes on but usually i can turn the car off and on

again and the light stays off.

The light can go a week or more without coming on and usually tends to come on when i take it easy and drive economically.

Thanks in advance
