Boot Release Solenoid

I am contemplating putting a solenoid into the boot release mechanism so that my immobiliser will also unlock the boot with the second button. Has anyone else done this? Is there a solenoid and and a place to put it that works best?

I thought about it years ago but never looked into it. Good idea though.

I would fit it where the cable hooks into the latch under the plastic cover, make up a bracket to secure the solenoid and run wiring.

Would be a bit of stuffing around to get it to work right but it would be handy.

done PLENTY of them.

find a mitsi magna form 2002 on and get the electric one out of it. that fits neatly into the stock mounts and has more than enough torque to pull the catch.

to find one look inteh glove box of the wreck for a boot switch.. the actuator is located under the antenna plate on the passenger side.. get the unit, wiring and the pull cable. should set you back $50 or so.
