Over a 12 year period, out of my immediate family, we've had two with tumours (benign) and one with stage 3-4 cancer of 2x types (now recovered - remission).

And I started to think...

Well we built our current home - finished in '91 at the tail end of organochlorines being used as a termite barrier. Did this set off a chain of events?

I guess this thread is a discussion of...

* causes

* exacerbation

* treatments

* prevention

There are of of course other autoimmune disorders too like SLE (aka Lupus), Rhuematoid Arthritis etc

my uncle passed away in 2006 from cancer, he was 54 years of age,

never drank, never smoked, always ate natural foods afaik.....

boxing day 2006 his daughter noticed that he wasn't walking straight, kept swaying... went to three doctors, couldn't diagnose...

...third doctor said he had an agresseive brain tumour, they removed it that week.. but within a month or so, it had grown back, and spread down his brain stem into his spine.. and his lungs etc..

..he lost the fight despite numerous treatments in early august that year.

7 months.. =(

obviously i know not of his complete day-to-day actions but however.. and terry i have you you you and only you to thank for opening my eyes about this..

but last year you made a comment about sweetners and associated foods.. and the risks you beleive are involved..

and i spread the information and beleifs and findings that you see onto all my friends and family of it.. most people i know dont use sweetner however...

but i did used to drink about 3 cans a week of pepsi max.. which has stopped.

i cannot personally thank you enough for that :)

I roamed up and down the confectionary aisles of Target to-day...

looking for chewing gum without any 951 or 950.

Do you think I could find any? > No such luck!

The one I was trying to track down was the "Blue PK" > need to go to woolies or coles I guess.

I used to get hooked on (USA) Chiclets. > Wonder if a lolly shop has them > and they're not tainted with 950 or 951

Thanks GM > I've been using Blue PK for some time now for the reason that...

951 & 950 > Gliomas like Astrocytoma of the brain, Grave's Disease, Lymphomas, worsening of certain types of Breast Cancer.

Bowel Cancer Prevention:-

I've taken note of something I recall from pharmacy days gone by.

Back in 1970 the 9th ranked cancer back then is #2 now. It's called bowel cancer. To go up 7 spots in rankings is phenomenal. Do you know anyone who's been struck by it?

By the time bleeding occurs (which of course could be just haemorrhoids), a bowel cancer is too late to treat.

Anyway, I read a medical report that aspirin causes bowel polyps to shrink and prevent apoptosis or bursting > spreading bad cells > metastasis > death

But the side effect of aspirin is that it abrades the lining of your stomach which makes you more prone to ulcers there.

Anyway, there does exist a herb that converts to aspirin after digestion and therefore does not have a detrimental effect on the Gastrointestinal Lining.

It's called Willow Bark. And it also has earned the name of 'nature's aspirin'.

Moral:- so if your ancestry shows up some bowel cancer afflictions, it might be best to take a Willow Bark tablet each day perhaps? I would.

Willow Bark for Breast and Bowel Cancer prevention > made by Mediherb > available from Naturopaths in tablet or liquid

Keep in mind that one research paper suggests that other than genes, there are 3 contributing causes of bowel cancer that if tackled, makes bowel cancer preventable...

a) physical activity

b) eating lots of fibre like psyllium as in Uncle Tobys Fibre Plus or if prone to high cholesterol, Oat Brits

c) don't repress feelings emotionally so > talk to your friends/God/your pets

Melatonin for Melanoma and Lung Cancer prevention > made by Blue Rock > available from Golden Glow and create your own account rather than pay r.r.p.

This is the hormone that is lacking if one is prone to jet lag after flying from west to east long-haul

Hope this helps Genelle and others...

Been reading your stuff Terry - very interesting. Especially the discussion around fibre - I'm in need to increase my intake as my diet doesnt reflect how I should be treating myself!

In relation to USA gum - you might want to try usafoods.com.au - I've used them in the past to source USA imported foods - they might be able to help source gum that doesnt have the nasties you are discussing above.

Thanks

Paul

TIME Mag has had one of those features again about brain tumours stemming from mobile phones placed next to an ear for long periods.

Tick for using texting

Tick for using ear devices but this is contentious in other studies

Cross for kids (ie developing brains) using mobiles

Cross for anyone who has a relative with brain tumours using mobiles for any more than a minute or two

Question:- wouldn't more girls and tradesmen/businessmen be prone to that type of cancer? Just thinking....

For those who are getting/taking chemo treatment, dont be so naive and blaze some marijuana. It will help with the pain, counter the nausea, and you'll regain your appetite. marijuana is not a drug, it's a plant. In the early days the Egyptians and Aztecs would use this as medicine.
