im looking at a nissan 350z touring that has stock 206kw im a red p plater and live in qld our restriction is 200kw any way around this at all?

if caught driving this car wats the cost and point involved?

were did u get that kw reading all the places ive looked says its over 200 and what will those advanced driving courses allow exactly?

If you wish or need to get a high powered car on P1s, I'd get some Advanced Drivers' Courses under your belt so you and your car don't get all out of shape ie. lose control regardless.

It'll be about 30Kw less at the wheels - however, the policeman will have a list of what cars are prohibited.

If the V35 is permitted for P drivers, get it. Best to get the 2 dr.

im right for the driving i raced cars on tracks in newcastle at the speedway when i was growing up big block v8s i know how to handle a car i just want to know if it is a restricted car?

i cant find a restricted car list for QLD is there 1?

and is that 200kw restriction at the wheels or from the fly?

I remember seeing the list a few years ago. Best bet would be just to call up QLD transport.

i went to the cop shop the officer is like just get an exemption i was like i have a car already and many cars i have access to and he goes dont worry about it mate they hand those out to alot of people for no reason at all

If you've got that amount budgetted, I'd get the V36 + get an exemption for taking your Mum to 'dialysis' - which is really a lie isn't it?

see there is a major flaw in the plan of getting the excemption. if they look up the date that the car was registered in your name then they will see that it put into your name a long time after the car was put on the restricted list. so your chance of getting it approved is minimal. then you also have the question of whether an insurance company will cover you. they may let you take out the policy and give them money, but when it comes time to pay you out in the event of a crash they may simply refuse to pay your claim.

moral of the story, you know the car is illegal to drive on your p's, so suck it up and move on. don't be a sook and try to find ways around it.
