Just so you people know I spoke to a former TEG officer and he said the TEG police were targeting those idiots in white vans doing stupid stuff and the people that associated with them.

Some innocent people might have been caught up in it all but I'd place the blame on bogan white van drivers instead of a target on JDM owners as bringing attention.

Rowan, it was constructive criticism.....

haha i was only tricking man! :)

glad to see so many people enjoyed it - truth be told when we first thought of doing it we were only expecting about 50-80 cars...

i honestly had NO IDEA that perth had SO MANY cool JDM cars!!!! now i have to finalise my article to post on 7tune and autolife!!

I dont think the white van was driving around for 3 hrs, cops were there in a Territory pulling people up at 10 am, and was still there at 1.30pm when I left as well as the marked cops. They were there to put stickers on cars no matter what, albeit the lowest and noisiest ones.

They could have just given warnings and sent us a good message.

Maybe next time we do a charity meet as the poker run has much more illegal cars driving around in there cruises but they dont get touched.

nah. we're just going to make the gubberment piss instead :)

we have ways.

anyway if i may speak my mind ... i think half the reason was you clowns for bailing soon as you heard the cops were there!!!

"oh man there's cops here, better head straight head first into it"

nukkah please.. cops wanna yellow us?? make em wait and earn their time. we had clearance to use the park until 530pm.. you should have just stayed. i stayed till 4pm and had no troubles from police at all...

if you guys knew cops were outside playing silly buggers then why oh why did everyone drive into them?

FWIW we are THINKING of organising a fundraiser cruise. no, not to help out bushfire victims. not to help out QLD banana farmers... no.

fundraising cruise to help our brothers who got given yellow stickers and help subsidise their inspection fees.

Socrates, Jason and I will be discussing this at our meeting tomorrow. will post results

What about a charity cruise to raise money to send my paintball team to World Cup Asia later in the year?:P

P.S. while I wasn't there, I do completely agree with Rowan on the ZOMG COPS BAIL and driving straight into them issue, seen it happen many times before and I actually appreciate the decoy

Hey all Anyone from SOR who saw or remembers seeing an elderly couple taking pic's of your plates and car's travelling up from the shops in riverton to ascot you may get pulled over and told that you need to have your car photographed and yourself as the car has been flagged as "to be stopped and photographed including occupants".

As i was stopped today and informed that i have no choice and need to be photographed and the car too and my girlfriend who was a passenger was also photgraphed.

We then went into the local cop shop to inquire as to why the car had been flagged in the first place the only reason we were told was " it has been flagged as a hoon vehicle"

we asked why and the next response was " Are you members of a car club", (yes obviously) " Thats why"

Now i not saying all this as a whinge but to let anyone else who remembers the elderly couple taking the pic's that your car may also have been flagged.

The f**k? This is ridiculous.

And the purpose of this was...?

It doesn't make any sense to me. So your car was flagged for being a 'hoon' vehicle but you never did any hoon-like activities? :/

That's ridiculous!

I've been on lots of car cruises, events, etc. with cop presented sometimes with car clubs. After that, I drove with marked/unmarked vehicles at the rear as well and never get stopped.

I am pretty sure "THAT OLD COUPLE" made up their side of story (like noisy/low race-inspired hoon cars in THEIR area). Just ridiculous, unless you are caught doing burnouts and stuffs with photos evidences.

I feel sorry for you, Michael. Hope you don't get copped all the time and we should take this up against with whoever get involved. This is a discrimination for Japanese import drivers.

yep nah me and the missus is not taking this lightly as i feel we are now just being labled because we were following a group of cars.

if we are not heard or we do not like the answer we are given we are going to take this up with the commissioner again

if dont get the answer we want then we'll just go higher up again from that.

We the memebers of the public dont go around saying that cop's are all murderers because they hold a firearm on thier belts so there really isnt a need to label a car a "hoon vehicle" unless we're actuallly doing/caught in the act.

the only thing that has us going "hey hang on" was the fact that they needed to take a single photo of myself then my partner then the car.

Im sure we have some sort of privacy right for somthing like that.

But anyway ill actually stop complaining now it was actually just to inform those who think they may have had their car's photographed by that elderly couple that you may have your plates flagged now.

That seems very odd, and f**ked up at the same time. Sounds like your vehicle may have been marked as a VOI which will result in random license checks / breath checks. If it is this though, normally that is flagged by your plates. NFI why photos have been taken?

This shit is beyond a joke.

I just had a thought - could this be related to the guys hanging out of the sunroof in the tunnel on the news recently, which apparently 'may have been heading to meet'

    • Thanks! Will get it looked at before winter 🥶 other than that she's a mint ride love it aye
    • FWIW a lot of the local owners that do a big build tend to have cars that are perpetually broken.
    • I just got this system but haven’t installed yet I got a Moroso sealed box (defect reasons) which will be set up same as their pic The quality is high grade, the correspondence I had with the owner (former head designer for Rockford Fosgate) was unbelievable, guiding me with what I needed. Even told me not to buy some things as it could be sorted in a different way at his loss. Just a bit of a bite with the exchange rate and don’t purchase gear in 1 hit that goes over $1,000 au, lol I forgot!
    • Thanks mate for that reply. Very helpful.    it’s a 2022 400R so would most likely lose those features as you say.     I did a quick compare of a rv37 nav and heading for sale in Japan to q50 model. I’ll pop pics below. Seems  Japan spec head into top, nav unit second below it   below pic Q50 aud delivered     differences seem to be Aus delivered has a different plug top left hand side of head unit- not sure what and where it goes.   and nav unit Japanese tv37 had an extra plug put    Again I’m really not sure what each of these differences mean!       the actual plugs on a v37 and q50 screens look identical on both screens… pics below for comparing. (One screen was is a us delivered one) but should be same gps signals etc as Australia.    If it were as simple as swapping a nav unit from q50 aud delivered im interested -just want to figure out what the missing plug is for before spending big $ on a second hand part for it to not work, and I guess with the head unit, if the band expander does the job (I got a 20mHz so should get the range I’m after) so should narrow my issue down to nav unit only.  I’d love to know what the extra cable on rv37 does and if I eliminate that part what it’ll do to the setup,    and also, if I can figure out what that head unit plug difference is, what does that cable do and where does it got can it be altered or re-plugged?! Excuse my ignorance what is ACP/AA, what does that stand for? (Apple car play? Android air play)? so If I swapped head units to save using a band expander, I’d likely lose those better features to have an oem Unit operational. Better to use a band expander and retain AirPlay options and newer version of head unit     provably best to band expand it, and focus on the nav unit. th isn’t  a big deal/ would be cool to have it working  from what I can tel we use a PAL Signal and Japan uses a NTSC signal  I don’t know if there’s a co better or if the screen only reads NTSC, or if it’s the tv module that needs replacing… no big deal don’t need it but more of a curiosity thing on that!   Thanks for the info re tyre sensors, helpful and great to know.  I was reading the online manual off Japan website and it seemed to make it sound more confusing than it is  I guess a rim replacement would require the sensors to be moved to a new rim to carry that option over?!     Thanks for the info regarding diagnostic mode. I appreciate your help mate. Trying to brainstorm here to find a solution to get as much gadgets as I can working! I plan to get my local Nissan tech to have a look too who used to be at an Infiniti dealer back in the day to see if any thing they have or idea can find a soliton. But hoping anyone here has gone down the same route to make life easier!!   i guess identifying the cable/plug differences and what they do would be a great way of finding out if the units are transferable    thanks again
    • No idea about the remote start part. If the V37 nav is anything like other Nissan JDM vehicles, you can't get the factory Japanese nav working in australia, a card from a different car almost certainly won't work, those cards are usually matched to the serial number of the DCU.  You could be possibly swap out the components from a AuDM Q50 to get it working, but if this is a new model (2021+) 400R, then you will lose the newer features like ACP/AA.  That said, if you have ACP/AA, just use google maps.. I assume a band expander would be required to get the local radio stations, but don't forget the Japanese FM band is narrower than ours, so you still might not be able to receive all Australian stations. I can't see any reason the tyre pressure sensors won't work here, there is the sensor unit inside the rim and the receiver nearby in the wheel well.  I have never had to change the batteries on my 2015 Q50, so I assume they last quite a while.  A straight battery change shouldn't need them to be re-registered as they are the same unit, that should only be required if you replace a sensor with a new one.   Word of warning, if you ever go into the 'secret' diagnostics mode on the main screen, DO NOT EVER do a 'reset' in this menu, it will erase all of your model specific data in the DCU and you will need a trip to a dealer to re-program it all, which would be particularly painful being an import.  This applies to the AuDM Q50 too.
