Hey guys,

does anyone know how long the compliance process takes?

my car arrived on the 14th of June to Australia, it's in compliance now, and its oviously been there for over a week. I just wanna get an estimate as to how much longer i have to wait to see it! :)

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

personally I tell people 4 weeks. gov turn around on paperwork and also nidrie's turnaround on providing plates are both highly variable. so yeah as quick as 2 weeks as long as 4 should be about right. I know it's hard but try not to call the poor buggers every day to ask how it's going. believe me as soon as it's ready they'll call you. they do want to get paid after all.

Mine took literally 2 days to comply, including installing the FM Expander, and then they waited about 10days for the compliance plate to arrive. I was happy until I found out today that the next boat from Brisbane to Perth is on the 9th of July. :(

Quick unrelated question (please dont get mad), I am guessing that the car will have only been driven a very small amount in the months leading up to arriving in Perth, so would people suggest just filling it up with a tank of BP Ultimate or having it serviced?? When I bought my Series 8 RX7 the dealer said that it still had Japanese fuel in it, which he said is much higher quality than Australian Fuel, so I should fill it up with 98 octane straight away. I am guessing/hoping that the Compliance Workshop would have changed the oils and other fluids but this is something that I havent really thought about until now. I actually thought that I was just paying a couple of thousand $$$ to have a plate bolted to the engine bay....can anyone tell me if they should be doing what you could almost call a "minor service" on it?

Cheers

Al
