ok then, I guess it all just seems strange to me how the rules out here work for import and I still have no understanding as to why essentially the same vehicle is 50k more expensive in Australia then Japan, US etc... even including luxury car tax out here.

Gotta admit it is irritating how much cheaper cars are in the US and how much more lenient they seem to be for registering customs or imports or whatever.

Well, you're going to have to cop it on the chin or move somewhere that is more favourable.

When comparing prices of vehicles between say Australia and the USA, people overlook the fact that 100k is a lot more in the USA then over here, respectively. The annual median wage over there are exceedingly low compared to here.

That's without taking into account shipping, demand and various other factors such as LCT, we do get the poor end of the deal but it's life.

Add to that the fact that US is actually a whole lot stricter on allowing cars to be imported there in the first place. Ask any US car nut how much they'd like an R34 GT-R...
