hmm... the coils seemed to be fine when i checked them, i did the coil test by disconnecting one and seeing if the engine kept firing or not. i guess ill have a closer look. i wouldn't expect water could get down that far, but one of my coils was wet. ill have another go at them i suppose. i replaced the plugs, so they're fine

Heh, aren't i red faced, my AFM was clogged with my air filter. its completely buggered, falling to pieces etc. thanks a lot for all your help though guys, at least i know what to look for next time.

ok going by my experience, a few cars i did had symptoms you had ,

FAULTY AFM.

FAULTY TURBO (Bearings or bushes and shaft wear )

FAULTY plugs

FAULTY coils

FAULTY governor valve on side of planum

FAULTY fuel reg and or pump maby filter test with fuel meter

FAULTY crank angle sensor and or knock sensor

LEAKING BOV, pipes , intercooler.

clean out all harneses that may have came in contact with water especially crank angle sensor and knock sensor ...

proccess of elimination mate start from least expensive too expensive .

D'oh - oh well, it's good you got it sorted out.

Hay if you've got a stock airbox and need a stock filter element, I've got one you can have for nothing.

I've actually got an HKS Pod, it came with the car, but the filter is stuffed now.

I'm actually thinking about getting a stock airbox reinstalled and a high flow filter, is there any difference between this and a Pod? i don't want to lose power, but the Pod is so bloody noisey

Well, when I got my car it had a HKS pod filter too !!

I went from the HKS pod that was in a cold air box, to a stock airbox with a high flow panel filter.

The only difference I found was that it was 10 million times quiter...... I noticed no difference in power at all.

With the highflow panel filter I can still hear a little bit of induction noise, and I can hear the turbo spool up now (really high pitched whine, that goes so high it goes out of range of your hearing :D ) but it's 100% better than the HKS pod.

Little bit of induction noise..... That's not a HKS pod filter. They are one of the loudest pods around.

I actually found it pretty anoying. Taking off normally it'd sound like your were going flat out.

Much nicer to drive with the stock box with a high flow panel filter.
