Put it this way, in the import market... A 10 grand total budget will likely yield you quite a good black coloured ER34 with a lot of fruit on board like wheels etc....

And more than likely depending on the exchange rate at the time, will PRObably get you change back from the transaction ...

But either way... Importing an ER34 into WA is feasible because the market here is so inflated for them... So it actually makes sense. Personally I'd get a Toyota because I think they're built much better.. :)

My other piece of advice? Stay away from WA compliance shops. I hear good things about a particular shop that's on here that DOES lurk these forums and that shop IS good however stay the hell away from that yellow shop with the kangaroo in overalls on the logo.

That guy is a prick. A grey haired... Greedy .. Lieing... Prick.

cheers for the heads up on the workshop that you have referred to above, i know the one you mean, you must of read my mind as im chasing a black R34 sedan ,grade 3.5 or better with wheels and maybe some light mods and looking to pay around ten thou, ive emailed iron chef (and others)as ive heard good things about them and will see how i go, im thinking the aus $ is strong at the moment compared to the Yen so i should snag a bargain especially as the 34 sedans arent highly sought after

^^ Dad? :P Nice name

I paid $8900, R34 GT-T Sedan Auto 80,000km. That covered Car, Shipping, Import fees/taxes, Compliance, RWC, Detailing. All that was needed was registration.

Manual Coupe R34 GT-T was quoted at $12,900 - $13,900.

VERY nice looking car there linden, which import broker did you go thru and did you recieve good service?

Cheers mate :)

I used Phil from http://www.tokyoprestige.com.au/. They are not a huge company, but they move a lot of cars to dealerships. He's a top bloke and he did say the car was immaculate. I'm sure if you shoot him an email he will be more than glad to give you some quotes and a look at the cars they have waiting in Tokyo. They also have access to Auctions, but I didn't use them.

It has taken a while to get here, but then again It was in Tokyo when I bought it and they were on a golden week holiday so everything has taken about 3 months. Overall I'm pretty chuffed with what I got.

Sorry for the thread jacking, just trying to give you a perspective of what I got for $8900.

In Japan the ER34 GTT /5MT sedans sell for a bit more than the coupes. The cheapers ones are about 8K USD and the most were between 9-12K but those were listed on the web.

A couple weeks ago I stopped by Machida Yokohama area and they had a couple that were dirt cheap so had been converted though. IMO your better off buying one already in Australia.

I got my car bascially stock minus S-tune suspension for about 8,500 after the yen conversion.

Excellent buy there linden!!!

That's excellent value for under 9 grand :)

Although I would never call a Nissan immaculate :P THE TURBO AND THE BATTERY ARE ALL ON THE WRONG SIDE!!!!

Hahaha (Toyota defect here)

I would have much preferred a manual, but I could not pass up this deal!

I wonder why they put the battery on the left side o_o

nothing wrong with an auto , maybe not "sporty" but they are a shit load cheaper(less desirable) than a manual me thinks,i like the auto shift paddles on the steering wheel even if its for the "wank" factor, that interior looks brand new!thanks for the pics as it helps make for an informed decision when it comes to pricing a sedan for myself, saw a nice black one with exhaust on son of rajab street near whiteman park at 6:10pm tonight, very cool, can hardly wait too get behind the wheel of one and show them yota drivers up

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

:-p

Way I see the auto / manual debate is:

Nissan skyline would suit a manual, granted... But everyone always says "why isn't your car manual"

Realistically...

Leather

Cruise control

Animated dash

Elec seats

Elec sunroof

Elec / luxury everything...

Doesn't really suit a manual, Personally I prefer auto I guess cos I'm grown up and I dont feel the need to say "the only way to drive is manual"

^^ this . . . well said!,sums it up nicely, they are a luxury car with advanced tech when compared to local offerings and shame on nissan aust for not bringing in these when they were brand new

^^^ this old "shame on Nissan" argument is something I've also never agreed with

I would rather spend three months waiting for an imported car and have to get kicked beaten and punched by authorities for importing a car..

I would rather THAT and get the car of my dreams from japan than buy a 250,000km sunfaded paint brown grungy headlights car that's got three or five year old tyres on it..

Skyline is what, 1999??? You find me a 1999 car in Australia that you'd actually wanna pay money for.

Hell no.

I've only ever bought one car in aust, that's my daihatsu open top Mira. It's dope. And has 100,000km on the dash

And it's exactly as dope as it sounds.

Haha

But yeah, I *could* buy a 2003 - 2005 Lexus LS - I actually was going to get one, but why the hell would I buy a Lexus? 270,000km owned by Qoc Nguoc Phan Tran who services it at a backyard Gull servo mechanic

Fuuuck that. That's why I'm getting the uzs171 crown majesta test car, it makes much more sense, Japanese service their cars properly and garage them

You should see my friends 1987 chaser Steve, you'll go nuts!!

I def have a soft spot for luxury jap (turbo)cars- no matter what the brand, looking at the interior pics above , it might be a bit of a generalisation but the japs seem the look after thier cars better than what you would find locally and they are cheap!look forward to seeing your crown on the roads in Perth Rowan
