People who can't spell. I'll let you get away with a keyboard error but seriously; we live in Australia and we've all been to school.

You make a new thread asking for advice. People lob in with their suggestions and you discuss it with them. The thread ends with you saying, "Ok that gives me some things to try. I'll give them a go and let you know how it went." To which one or two people will reply something like, "Would be interested to see how it goes because I have a similar problem."

Now you have not only the people who discussed the issue with you, but about a hundred other interested parties, a few of whom have a similar issue of their own, all hanging to find out how it went and what do you do?

You say, "**** it. It's fixed now. Couldn't be bothered telling them how it went so I wont."

Thank you very ****ing much.

I understand the second hate but the first one is due to instant messaging and TXTing (God I hate that word). People try to get as much information out in the least amount of keystrokes which is understandable if the input method is cruddy.

I however have a more specific pet hate: those who type in shorthand because they think it is "elite"(and dont get me started on that). Plus shouters and the good old teenybopper mixing uppercase and lowercase. Makes it so difficult to read!

EDIT: Spelling mistakes...but hey, everyone does it!

Oooh yeah.

The alphanumeric spelling style and alternating capitals make baby Jesus cry.

My patience is thin at best - this does nothing to help. I think it actually takes MORE effort to type like a f*ckwit than it does normally.

I'm glad I'm not alone. I feel better.

Dont ask me why but I hate people starting a thread asking " How much power do you think I will get? "

Even more so when mods are limited to an exhaust, pod and a tad more boost etc.

Its like, do they actually read anything on this forum? Just go get on a dyno and get your power figure so you can come back and post " How come I only got xxxkw @ the wheels "

These threads nearly always end up off topic anyway.

This thread however, I like a lot. It should me made sticky as the official SAU group therapy thread where people can come and post about their hates and annoyances

Since we're venting... i'm sure we ALL hate these:

Peanut butter vs. Vegemite:

My mate just made some Vegemite toast, and says that his is so much better than my peanut butter sandwich as he's using only a little bit of margarine and only one piece of bread.

I told him he's lying as everyone knows that margaraine is polyunsaturated and that monounsaturated is better. Plus I'm using smooth peanut butter in the Bob-the-Builder jar.

But is he right?

I think his toaster is set to 4 of a possible 5. Plus he's using multigrain bread. My cousin made some vegemite toast the other day, but made his toaster go to 7 out of 5 as he's at TAFE and knows heaps about stuff. His was good - but as I said, he's at TAFE and my mate's in year 11.

We're going to fight about it after school, but only if my mum doesn't come to pick me up first. Oh... also, I want an R34 GTR VSpec III Nür type-M wagon for my 21st - which is in 10 years time. How much will it cost? I want a green one.

Ahaha! That one was about 2 weeks ago?

---------------

I also hate bad spellers. The problem is that they get so used to typing in 'slang' that it actually makes their overall spelling worse.

Heck, I type everything out in full (the same goes for text messages on my phone); I'm so used to it now that I type faster than people who do write in slang.

jamezillar that is pure gold do you mind if i use that in a booklet i am doing for uni on "how to be an aussie bloke" that would fit in well in my tall poppy part!!!

Please let me know asap!!

Also Abo Bob please post your results, as i am thinking of doing this mod myself soon!!

The lack of basic literacy really gets to me on this forum. The next person who starts a thread and misspells the subject of the title should be taken out back and shot.

Yes this means you "HOW MUCH DOES INSUREENCE COST??S?!?!$!@" man. Basically if you can't spell it you shouldn't be entitled to it.

I will post here when I get the results back from the good spelling dyno. Also the doctor has taken a blood sample this morning so I'll post the results of that too. He thinks I have irritable ****wit syndrome but I think it's more likely to be a bad case of bigheaditis.

The second point I made above is a valid one so please take it in and abuse anyone who comes in for a soak and leaves without adding to the knowledge pool.

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
