Hmmm...

Besides physio, I'd get some info on a TENS Machine (buy or hire) in order to prevent your leg muscles from atrophying (ie wasting away).

Acupuncture can also accelerate healing in some people (since they use it for the same on some football team members).

That pic makes me wonder how anyone could come out of that alive! Say a prayer of thanks?

Wow, like the others I have to say thank god you made it out of the accident in the shape you are. I guess it's good that you were in a car with the chassis strenth the GTR has.

I imagine after two months in a wheel chair you'll have the upper body strength where no one would mess with ya after they see your guns!

Again Aaron if there's anything we can do for ya, let us know.

Also i update facebook sometimes so if you want to be friends on there my name is Aaron walter should be able to find me , cheers almost time for lights out at rnsh :)

haha I only need motors! And it looks like yours absorbed a heap of pressure (+1 for big heavy cast iron blocks).

without meaning to get too personal....won't 3rd party injury insurance cover everything that has happened to you? It's not like you could possibly be more innocent in this "incident"...

holy shit balls man. that car is wrecked hard! It wasn't lucky you were where you were when this happened but your lucky to have the outcome and recovery! Put that bonnet up on a wall man. It's a testament to having some super human strength!!! :O

Best wishes for a speedy recovery dude!

Hi Aaron,

I've retired from pharmacy, but chemist shops that hire out walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, BP machines etc are most likely to have a TENS machine.

By applying pads to certain spots and then turning the current on, the muscles in that area continue to contract according to pulsations. This action should stop those muscles from wasting. Hope this helps in a practical sense & not just in theory.

Cheers,

Terry

Hey mate, good to see things are moving forward!

That pic is intense, thank god you had a decent car. It's just... scary, we always forget how much energy is involved in moving 1500kg at speed.

I was just wondering, do you have any memory of what happened? Don't answer if it's a sore memory though. Was just thinking everyone subscribed to this thread would want to hear your tale if you wanted to tell it.

Glad you're on the mend mate, best wishes.

    • What HVAC actuator is under the steering wheel? Do you mean on the RHS of the centre console, immediately to the left of your shin? If so, then yes, it is probably that one, because that is the mode door actuator, and from what I know, it's still a pain in the arse to replace. I don't know about whole dash out, but you certainly have to rip into the centre console section. I don't know if it's covered in the workshop manual, as I haven't spent much time looking at those parts of it. (and by "the workshop manual, I mean the R32 GTR one, which is the most comprehensive one we have, and it should be similar enough between that and later cars to serve as a guide).
    • ...oops. forgot the TCU end...
    • No I got mine from a friend that had fabricated one … but I had to fit it to my setup which was a hks turbo setup. His was a Garrett -7. So one of my turbos was not a flange for one side … then I had a leak in the welds I had to find a weld shut … in the end the setup was decent priced but I spent a lot to get it fitted. A couple companies I checked would make it but you’re talking 7-9k aud with titanium. No joke mine was 6-7k even second hand after I had to fit it in Hong Kong … labour is expensive here.
    • I'd just like to restate that I don't think anyone here is actually hating I recently sold a car part to a guy who was building a forged auto R34, with MV stall and aiming at ~450kw. I told him that I'm him, from the future and to stop after it explodes once. I told him I knew he won't listen the first time, and that's fine. But if my predictions do come true - Change direction faster than I did. I also said it's probably no coincidence that the dyno plot of a reliable turbo engine starts to look a lot like a N/A motor. :p
