Could even be worth anyone in Sydney having it shipped to Brisbane and then driving it down......nothing like a long first drive to make you fall in love with the car.......not sure how that would work with rego though.....?

I drove mine back from Brisbane to Tas, what a love affair it was :D

I drove it back with no rego, went to QLD Roads and got a permit that covered me all the way home, although I did get pulled over in Sydney by some D's who thought I was a bit sus :/

Brisbane to Tas....? Your telling me that one of the 10000 buttons actually activates an outboard motor.....cool, Africa here I come.....

I can understand the D's being interested, you were probably driving like you stole it!!!

And for anyone looking to purchase a v36, don't pay more than 50K for a car up to 09. You are being ripped if you do.

It's already been discussed, but yeah... I paid $57k OTR for a Black + SP + Sunroof + 10,000kms + 5A + Infiniti badging/all options importing direct 13 months ago. Compliance was $3.3k, yen was a bit lower, tyres $1.5k. My understanding is Wogboy has the only similar V36 in the country with those features (certainly at the time) with one coming up for sale on average once every 3-6 months (I waited 6+ months - competition was fierce and I paid just under my max).

It sold at auction for 3.303 FOB (and it was a Dec 2007 model!). Black with sunroof, it's a killer.

If I had have went any other colour and no Sunroof it would have been $10k less.

But yeah, the Sunroof is TOTALLY KICKASS, as is black and the heated seats are magic in Melbourne's shitty winter. Obviously paid too much for it but f**k it, I love the car.

Sat nav is not that expensive to change, the garmin unit is about $600 i think. You can run this thru the AV and it will work straight up. I did mine and I ran it thru the camera system, main reason being that I can have the navi running and still listen to the cd, radio etc.

They are a fantastic motor car and black is absolutly porn! but a bitch to look after.

Hey Wogboy can you tell me more about your Garmin setup? Am I right in saying you have a GPS with AV out, run it through the TV, and use the touchscreen on the Garmin Unit itself (which you have in the centre console or something?). That sounds like a nice setup, I never even knew GPS's had AV out... I just have a cheapie Tom Tom (sick of them getting stolen... rather get a $99 cheapie and not have to worry so much). I was about to get a USB cable hard wired in too in the lower right of my windscreen this week.

The Garmim GVN53 works really well. It's just a black box the size of a packet of smokes that you can hide under the dash. You just wire it up to power and accessorries and plug it in to the RCA's in the centre consule, change to aux and away you go it comes up full screen. It uses a bluetooth remote, it does have a couple of wires that enable it to work via touch screen but that's abit over the top of my head

Adam fyi they have a black V36 coupe in Synergy Main North Road (well did have the other day when I drove past) - you should go have a look to see if it is what you are after, and so you can say you have driven one :)

Wogboy,

The garmin unit looks like a good option. Its a shame that the sat nav wouldn't work through the stock touch screen, but I guess you can mount the controller somewhere and it would almost be as good.

Apart from that, I think that I am resind to the fact that unless I can find a written off infiniti g37 and strip out the dash, the factory sat nav will never be working.

Hopefully they do start selling them here next year, although, would the new model have a completely different setup???

Haxorz,

Somehow I get the feeling that you will get a hell of a lot more than $57,000 worth of enjoyment out of the car over the next few years. You can never pay too much for the smile on your face everytime you drive!!!

and even then it still wont go. there are too many differences in the cars. GTR (R35) changed from 2009 -> 2010. and nothing on that is the same display wise.
