Nah all good

I will be going foggies; but I want to get my parts painted and on the car shortly, something for the meantime... Maybe I just need to be more patient.

If you decide to order the surrounds soon ; please send me a PM before you do, and I'll give you cash to get me a set, I'm happy to split any shipping cost with you if it means we can both get them cheaper.

Cheers, Dale.

Gah...FTG Nissan came back to me saying Nissan Japan are saying the shrouds are no longer in production...WTF?!

The car's barely 10 years old!

If this is true I take it any M35 with front aero bar that stacks won't be repaired using genuine new OEM parts?

true. if you can get decent ones made up in carbon fibre I might even trade mine in for some custom ones that let me fit different sized lamps. surely going to be cheaper and more useful than US$400 for ONE new fog lamp! :spank:

ok got a response from megazip.ru

Hello, sorry for delay response,

We can supply these parts

Prices are

B523079972-17$

B537089940 -58$

B6331AQ000 -53$

B6336AQ000 53$

For 1 qt.

Delivery price is 40$

Shipping seems pretty reasonable compared to Japan...so all up about $200 landed...for 2 plastic rings, a switch and a relay...

bloody hell...have a feeling it won't get much cheaper >_>

I'm still prepared to lend you my shrouds to make Carbon or Fibreglass copies if you want? Don't know what the costs would be like.

Thanks Leon; the issue I have , is the guy I''d like to use seems to take forever and a day to get things done. I'm happy wasting my own time for stuff I want, but I won't waste other peoples time.

Once I have a set I might look own this road; but I don't want to borrow parts from people, thenhave this guy take forever to return them.

Ironpaw, let me know when you're ordering and I'll sort you with some cash. Split the cost of shipping = win!

Cheers, Dale.

Umm, that was actually Ryan that offered his blanks. But not to be outdone, I would have offered mine to you Dale, if I had them :) I have the foggies in already tho.

If I had the front bar with empty holes like you, I would make something up myself, you know - fashioned from a piece of plywood, bark & bobby pins etc - MacGyver style LOL.

Doesn't matter what it is 'cause after you paint it matt black from a rattly can no one can tell

I don't have blanks, I have the actual fog light surrounds, and I'm happy to remove them to get replicas made. Someone in Adelaide is most convenient, but whatever.

Depending on time frames, I'm probably happy for you to have them for 2-3 weeks while molds etc are made, because I may be after slightly different ones anyway and I don't want to butcher the factory ones.

Was Megazip.ru able to supply the surrounds?

Yes they are, I'm just being tight and waiting for a couple more quotes to come in...

Are you able to find out how much it'd cost to get them made up?

    • Meh, I've always used 140-200TW tyres on the R32 as a daily. A set of tyres every 8-15km is acceptable to me. 8k perhaps at the less acceptable end!
    • Replace with a used tank?
    • Lots of tyres were quoted above, plenty of people have shown up to cruises on many of them.  Winton sprints allows full slicks and semi's in my category (C1, race car up to 2L), and semi's dominate the class.  You've got to set a car up properly around slicks, semi's are much more forgiving and the setup can be more versatile for a multi-use car.  I've got some used slicks fitted to the wheels already for the Silvia so we'll see how I go when the time comes. 2 sets of wheels is almost always the answer for a weekender.
    • Well yeah - I know the tyres quoted above are technically road legal, but nobody shows up to a hill run or a cruise on them, because they burn too quick and they GENERALLY exist as the "track only tyre" for an otherwise road/track hybrid car. I suppose they could fit the bill to drive *to* the track on them instead of changing tyres there on the day. I suppose it makes sense when it comes to slicks. Otherwise you'd just drive to the track and change tyres. And if you're gonna do that I don't know why nobody picks up a slick for those uses, even for regular road car track days/HPDE use non-competition but fun stuff. I just always find it a bit funny that people will say "but street car bro on street tyres" even if said street tyres would never really be driven on the street. May as well have a slick and just enjoy the full potential on the track. *pending suspension or grip related roll overs or god knows what which may/may not apply. Nankang CRS (v2) will be my choice too in some faraway era where my car exists and goes to a track again, by which time all the options may have been updated :p. Seem to be on par with the A052 everywhere when tested back to back except half the price, and wear slower. Goes to show how fast tyre tech has come, the newest product generally is the bestererest as it comes out.
    • MMM ok,  I see a bit of praise for RE003s, but CR-S sounding like a better option, seems Nankang wants those to replace the AR-1
