Speakers Won't Work

Hi guys, I'm only new to this site. I recently purchased an r33 series 2 with the standard double din head unit. I decided to upgrade to a tv/dvd unit. I bought a wiring harness so that I didn't have to chop any wires but after installing I found that the speakers aren't working. The unit itself is coming on and everything is working but no sound. I have checked all fuses and they seem to be fine. My concern is do these speakers have an internal amplifier?

If the speakers are connected to an amplifier would that be why they aren't working?

could be unplugged at the speaker, , broken in the door jamb, hacked in somewhere, the external amp not setup to turn on with the radio, no speakers in the holes,

dodgy radio, dodgy plug, dodgy plug install, wrong wires.

did you pop test the speakers during installation ? 1.5 volt battery ??? could be a bad xover .

this is why you pay someone to do it. so you don't encounter a GOTCHA !!!!!.lol my 2c

Sorry. Forgot to mention they work fine with the standard head unit just not with the new one. I am pretty sure it's the wiring from the car to the wiring harness. The standard unit also has a 10 cd stacker in the boot and a separate cable from the stacker to the unit which isn't being used on the new unit. I have looked at the diagram on this site and the 6 pin plug in my car is missing 2 wires and both of them are amp wires. Is this because my speakers aren't amplified or would the wires be in with the stacker wires?

I would suss that problem, don't assume wiring diagrams are right, most are from the USA where skylines were never sold until R35 and the wires still don't match up

most likely a mis wired interface plug. for the wrong car. model. year .

do you know if you have aftermarket speakers, like splits ?

All sorted. The speaker wires weren't connected correctly. I had matched them up according to colour but the positive/negatives were wrong on the harness. I should have tested them before joining together
