Hi All,

It comes with great sadness that this morning I had a phone call from the new owner that my previous Skyline (which i sold around 2 months ago) has been stolen at 5:15AM this morning in the suburb of Darch. I loved that car to bits and many of you have seen it on cruises and have known how clean that skyline was. The reason why I am posting this even though its not my car anymore, is that these thief's need to be caught and brought to justice.

It seems like they knew were it was, came and just drove it off. Keys were NOT stolen and it had a laserline alarm/immobilisers installed as well as a autowatch pin keypad. There was no glass at the scene, so it leaves me wondering if they pryed open the window and press the button to open the passenger door. Even if this occured the alarm would of went off either by the motion sensors or the door sensor when it was opened, this seemed to not deter them.

Its a distinct car, (anyone who has seen it before would recongnise it) with white P1 buddy club rims on it, lowered, Front mount with the mpsec front bar that has the middle bit cut out and slotted rotors all round. Number plate is 1DPB 625. It also has a Japanese sticker, with three Japanese characters on the top middle of the rear window., it also has a very slight cracked driver side indicator and small scratch on the passenger side door.

I will post photos tonight when I get home to help identify the car, I don't have any photos with me at the moment.

I have a feeling these guys are somewhat professional to get the car going with ease despite system in place to help stop them.

I have included its mod list below, incase you see things pop up in the for sale thread/quokka

I am devasted even though its not my car, alot of blood, sweat and tears went into this car, and the thought of it being thrashed, smashed and maybe even chopped up is bringing me close to tears.

If you have any info on it, please give me a call on 0434 513 444 or pm me on here.

Cheers guys!

Sorry to hear about this mate. Always sad when a Skyline is stolen, or any other car for that matter.

You said the alarm system is overkill right? I.e. you spent a lot on it? I'm not being rude or anything, but maybe this was an inside job in the sense that the new owner organised for it to be stolen so he could claim on insurance? I mean, i doubt this is the case; just a suggestion.

Regardless, I hope the car is found :)

That could be be the case, but unfortunately the new owner had yet to buy any insurance...

I still don't understand how they started to so easily, with the system I had in it should of made it very difficult. Unless they just chucked it on the back of a tilt tray truck?

Unless they just chucked it on the back of a tilt tray truck?

This seems most likely to me, I highly doubt they got into the car without setting off the alarm, bypassed the keypad and disabled the immobilizer, all without the keys.

Ahhh some people really should have been swallowed :( Sorry to hear mate, I'll keep an eye out.

I used to drive it to curtin when i had her. usually parked her at the loading zone bay near 408 abacus.... was the best spot as no one could park next to her and leave dents in the doors, when they opened theirs...

f**k man......im nearly in tears ......

Who the fck would do that....

I will be keeping a massive eye out, and will take pictures if i see it my phone is always ready to take pics.

I work in lansdale/fremantle, so i drive alot, so im most likely to see it if it is driving around.

Feel for you.

My old car got broken into a while ago, they stole My brand new deck/sub/speakers :( worth around 2k :(

heard on the radio today that a stolen white skyline was in a cop chase that ended in a crash?

Yep, that may be the one.

Police contacted the new owner, asked for pictures to 100% identify thats it the one... just waiting on the phone call to confirm... sigh i hope there isnt too much damage..

Not surprised they crashed it.. probably didnt realise or didnt know how to handle a car with a two way and side slid it into a pole or something....

Sorry to hear mate, makes me cringe to hear this every time a Skyline is stolen - these lowlifes need to be KILLED slowly friggin a%%holes.. How many of u got an in-car-GPS system which sends a sms to you when the car is moved.. I'm getting one ASAP. Most likely a tow-truck job, these bastards I'm sure wont go to lengths to disable the GPS, they'll just load the car up and flee..

Damn ya'll hope this prick didn't do to much damage to the car, if its written off, then maybe we can do a fundraiser/ cruise to get the rightfull owner back in a skyline, say $50 from everyone on the cruise thats just an idea.

Who else is up for that and to start ideas on the situation.

are you high man, i aint got $50 to give to some one to buy a new car, he should have had insurance.

sure it sucks but them the brakes,

i reckon the 2 way would have been a bit of a suprise for him, specially in a get chase

    • If you do go with drain back, make sure everything is foam or wool filled so it actually does something, and ensure there is a screen somewhere in the drain to catch anything that comes loose from the packing. I don't drain back
    • That's a good point. The rears of the covers themselves have no baffling at all though. Higher up more chance of air for venting the crank case. Lower on the side more likely to be submerged. I might be able to fit them on the sides but with both the sump drain fittings being on the drivers side the passenger one will need to make a U Turn and be nearer the turbo. But it will look neat being not up on top.
    • It won't likely matter where along the cam covers you put the big fittings. I would suggest putting them on the sides if you can, simply because it will reduce the flow up through the baffles and thus reduce the amount of oil that gets put into the foam. It might not matter, but it seems like something to consider as a worthwhile thing to avoid.
    • Well, I have my IM240 results with a cammed LS1... My Nox was 0.11 and my CO g/km was 0.2. Euro4 is 0.08 and 0.1 respectively. I'm gonna say for a stock RB this is actually plausible, BUT in Australia they were complied pre-Euro2, so the limits were: Which as you can see, is way higher. I'd say a stock RB with a new OEM Cat could? actually pass Euro4 for NOX but you'd probably have to do a hell of a lot of testing to prove it, and getting a car emissions tested and carrying a certificate of emissions when/if you get pulled over may be cost prohibitive if it's even allowable to get your car tested and re-classified. You'd have to find out what the UK Govt is using as reference material. It may be non-negotiable.
    • I made a little more progress last night and added some E85 safe fuel tank baffle foam in behind the stock cam cover baffle plate.  It still feels really wrong shoving foam inside the engine but apparently its fine based on it pretty much being the MINES/Hi-Octane RB26 cam baffle kit and the few posts here I have found of people doing it and the lack of posts saying the foam broke down and ruined the motor... Still plan to check it frequently though lol The last step for this round of oil control modifications I plan to make is to add some -12AN fittings to the cam covers and connect them to some (already existing luckily) -12AN fittings on the sump. Basically a sudo head drain/sump breather/pressure equaliser without having to remove the motor and do the one on the rear of the head. My plan is to add them to either the tops or the sides of the cam covers at the back. unless there is a compelling reason to have them at the front on the sides which i have seen a few times though they were all on RB26 cam covers from memory so that may be due to the stock breathers being on the back and the integral baffle being different ?
