hey guys i installed a sandwich plate however when i started the car it leaked i took it back off and noticed that one of the 2 seals had been pinched do i need both seals or will one do the job?

i just dont think i did it up tight enough in the first place

Its also not meant to be overly tight..

Remember an oil filter goes in the same place.. That is meant to hit the bottom and go some fractions of a turn more... Not using force to tighten it up, which might be what rooted the seals on your current one (dunno if you mean they came stuffed or you stuffed them putting it on).

Anyway, you would want both seals back on it if it had 2 to begin with.. Remember its probably a cheaply made item.

Yea the sandwich plate it not ment to be over tightened

Just yesterday my mate installed one and it poped out complete with the threading that holds the oil filter in the original spot.

Looks like when they tightened it, it fractured, and when the oil pressure rose while driving it broke off the whole part that the little adapter bolts on to....remember its aluminium and soft so its not ment to be done up tight, but relys on the seal for it not to leak, just like an oil filter ...so get some new seals in there and do not over tighten!
