What To Do And How To Go About Taking Car On Track For Some Fun !

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I got a 32 gtr that is having forged motor rebuilt at moment and extended sump etc etc I will be working in mines and I want to just take it out on track for some fun... Just for a hobby never been on track before but been keen to do it can someone point me in right direction ?

Please pm me cheers

There's a DiY on setting a car up for trackdays etc, so I would search that and start there, then look through the motorsport threads and build threads as there are plenty of gtr's hitting the track regularly with there setups detailed In those threads, other than that find your closest track, book in and just get out there

got to an RAC/AHG trackday at the skidpan and long track if you havent been before, as its a good basis to start learning track work.

I may be organising one at the start of next month open to skylines and i will be posting it in the events section so make sure you check this section in the coming weeks.

Its a lot cheaper(bout $50 $80) than getting all your cams license etc sorted out and going to barbagello raceway, and the only requirements is a current drivers license and a helmet.

checkout http://www.wascc.com.au/ for more info if you plan on doing some real track work. You will need a membership to a cams affiliated club such as wascc and a cams license in order to compete in trackdays and events at barbagello. all the info is on the site - antilag also hosts plenty of events throughout the year, although they aren't a cams affiliated club at the moment, but they are trying to change this apparently: you will need a antilag membership to be part of their track/motorsport events.

i Danny, check out www.nolimitevents.com for track nights and hill climbs, definately the best way to get started, good bunch of guys..also theres a sprint series at RAC driving centre, do a search on mc motorsport state sprint series, also the classicrally website for one and two day events are good but pricey. either way get on the CAMS website, find an affiliated car club, join and then get your CAMS LS2 licence, its the one licence that everyone accepts! get the car club and CAMS stuff sorted while your cars off the road. nolimits are CAMS affiliated.

I think your inbox is full, you can't receive pm's ?

anyway get out on the track, its a blast
