hey

i've just bought an alpine pdx-5 5 channel amp (4 x 75w & 1 x 300w rms) ebay <3

the original plan was to just use the clarion 75w component speakers in the front and the 30w pioneer speakers in the rear that came with that car and add the type S sub

i've just been playing with the idea of changing the front clarion speakers to alpine type R component speakers which are 110w rms

would the type R speakers be stretching the amp a bit too far?

i had type S speakers which are 80watt running on a 4 x 50watt amp in my previous car and they had no problems so i'm thinking it might not be too bad, but it is a bit more of a stretch

for what it's worth the headunit will be an alpine idax-305s
