Just curious as to the optimal tyre pressure for a r34 gt-t around 200rwkw

Running 225/40/zr18 on front

245/40/zr18 on back

Couldn't find bugger all in te search options as so many different sizes of tyres. Tyre place has them at 45 from fitment, from what I can read on the searches, 32-38 is optimal for performance without quick wear yeah?

Cheers in advance

Leigh

35psi is well low for that size..

Optimal pressures will vary according to tyre brand/size..

I usually run Federal 595s in 235/40/18 and they like 45psi, just put some Nexens on the back and they are happier at 40-42psi.

When I was running 595s in 235/45/17 they liked 40-42psi and back when I had 16's, most tyres I would run 36-38psi.

That is for my cars, with their particular suspension setups and my driving style... you need to experiment to find the optimal pressures for your setup.

AFAIK, legally your tyre pressures must be between what is on the tire placard (minimum) and the maximum inflation pressure for the tyre you are using (obviously maximum).

As a rule of thumb I like to have my tyre pressures about 3/4 between whatever is on the tyre placard and the maximum inflation pressure for the tyre. For example, in my R33 the tyre placard says 32psi and the maximum inflation pressure for Federal 595SSs in the sizes I use is 36psi, so I like to keep my pressures around the 35 psi mark. If I were to take these tyres to the track (usually I don't...) I would probably bump the pressures up by around 5 psi to reduce tyre wall flex a little.

Keep in mind that these are my preferences. having higher (not to be confused with over inflated) tyre pressures lead to a harsher ride but improved grip, steering feel and apparently fuel economy.

TL;DR - Can't really say for sure without knowing your tyre placard, maximum inflation pressure and how you want your car to feel.
