hey, sorry if in wrong section, move if possible.

just wondering if ne 1 has moved there motors back? how far can u go before u start getting sump/ rack clearance issues? it looks pretty close

maybe no1s done it in a skyline but maybe in a silvia with a rb conversion?

ive got a r33 member and a r32 im trying out.

the r32 makes the motor sit 10mm further back than the r33 xmember. im chasing another 15mm. i can gain that easy just by redrilling etc: just wondering if ne 1 had done sumthing similar before i have a go at it.

btw this is in a dr30, im putting a rack in it by using 1 of these members, just need the motor to sit further back to suit previous gearbox/mountings etc.

cheers

I could be wrong but a local guy here was building a DR30 with RB25 (ended up using a SR20) am Im pretty sure he was using an S13 cross member instead of the RB to get it low enough and back enough in the engine bay.

Let me see if I can find his build thread/updates and I'll get back to you thumbsup.gif

Priso's old car indeed.

Wasn't able to find where he was posting updates (think it was NS.com) but might be worth shooting him a message and asking thumbsup.gif

    • Hey guys so turns out this project is going to be much bigger than I thought haha but I've done some my homework and have done a few panels on my car, but one part I can just not visualise is this. If I do a spot repair and I put filler in a dent for example and sand outside of the repair with 320 grit lets say so the primer can stick as I will only put primer on that repair and the surrounding area and then repaint the whole panel. Don't I need to make sure that I don't put primer on the old clear coat? I keep seeing YouTube videos where people have new paint and primer land on the old clearcoat that isn't even dulled down, it's still shiny. I thought putting paint on clearcoat or primer on clearcoat is a bad idea because it won't stick. So in this scenario it's a bit different to mine but imagine someone doing a spot repair and only painting that small section of repair but the new paint is landing on the old clearcoat. What am I missing?
    • I was immediately reminded that your location is QLD. Sounds like a perfect SEQ business idea.
    • And if you can't drive bigger injectors with peak and hold as low impedance injectors during low pulse width, it's even harder to get a nice clean known amount of fuel.
