Hi all,

Im about to purchase some wheels for my r34.

front: 18 x 9.5 + 20

rear: 18 x 10 + 15

car is a r34 gt-v

Has kyb coilovers.

Now my questions are:

How much will effort will i need to make these fit?

I know ill need rolling but also flaring of guards.?

Would hicas be affected on the rear?

what tyre sizes would be ideal?

would i need to run camber? etc.

Any help from people running similar sizes/offsets or any good info will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Ang.

Those are some wide wheels mate lol

How much will effort will i need to make these fit? a bit of time and money will have to be put into it - a good weekends worth

I know ill need rolling but also flaring of guards.? not if you run crazy stretch and camber both front and rear - prob easier to and more beneficial to get camber arms than f*k with flaring the guards

Would hicas be affected on the rear? no idea bro

what tyre sizes would be ideal? 225/35/18 on the front. thats a fair bit of stretch and you will still need a touch of camber. 235/40/18 on the rear + couple of degrees of camber

would i need to run camber? etc. Oath.

Hope i was some help mate, im no wheel fitting wizard but i have played with a few sets of different sizes/offsets/tyre sizes on my own cars.

Best of luck, it will look tough as nails

thanks for the reply mate.

I ve finally decided to go with

9.5+20 rear

9.5+35 front with some spacers

with stretched 235/40 all around.

basically id already bought them (rota grids, dont hate ) already but was trying to figure out what sizing to get.

I fitted some 9.5 + 25 on the front and rear yesterday to see what id be up against. front had a bit of scrubbing with the coilovers and the rear sat inside the guard a few mm.

hoping to get a decent stance with what im planning to run.

I'll post some pics when im done for the hell of it.

thanks again pez.

Hey matey, i have the same wheels on my r33, well i have 30offset all round, will be interesting to see how yours fit on the 34.

i would maybe recommend 35 profile on the front, on mine the 40 profile makes the whole diameter just a touch too big, so rubs a bit more and the spacers might not be needed on front depending on how different the 34 is to the 33.

good luck with the fitment, sure are a big wheel , will be an agressive fitment.

Hey ang, nice buy on the rotas, they should look real nice. When I had the car with gtr rims on I was running 245/40 on 9" +30.

It would occasionally scrub on full lock on the inner guard. Never had any issues of it hitting the coilovers., I think if you go down to 235/35 it shud be ok, maybe even a 235/40 if your gonna use spacers on the front. Are you gonna get camber arms? I was really considering adjusting camber for my rears as the stock camber when lowered puts it inside the guard too much. Either way it should look nuts man, all the best.

looks like you've got it under control Ang!

definitely post pics - they are a TE37 knock off, and there isnt a car that TE37's dont suit

Enjoy

yeah hopefully man,

i meant to say i fitted 9.5 + 35 the other day.

now I just have to wait ATLEAST 4 weeks for the new shipment

will post pics on this when on!

awesome, thanks for that info. with the front it did scrub a tiny but that also could be because it was running 245/40 (just because they were on already and wanted a rough idea)

Hope to get an agressive stance.

Thanks again.

is your GTV a sedan? im looking at going 9.5+20 all round'

Nah mate its a coupe.

If the coupe and sedan are the same in regards to offset etc; the front will stick out more than the rear if you have the same offset.

Thats the reason why I didn't go for 9.5+20 all around like your thinking off.

I would rather them be even or the rear be out more so thought this might be the better option.

Thanks maqshood. I was going to text you actually to ask what offset they were but looked them up myself.

Havent really decided on camber arms, hopefully wont need them but I guess I'll find out when im in the process off putting them on.

Hoping for it to look the goods thats for sure, now just have to wait patiently.

they will stick out unless you run alot of negative camber.

rolling/lipping the guards will be needed.

heres mine with 9.5 +20 (front) 10 +23 (7mm slip on) (rear)

the fronts stick out quite a bit (need camber arms to adjust) and the rears are on -3(ithink)

hope this gives you a rough indication on how it will sit on yours.

I have been looking at +22 9.5 for my sedan this is interesting to see how it all sits.

Dori what mods have you done to the front to make it work just a roll and camber or just camber?

Is the roll needed or not needed depending the height of the car or is it so wheels dont stick out guard and my policeman comes for you lol

Cheers

Depends on your ride height.

mine needed to be rolled, it cambered in itself when i lowered it

9.5 +22 on stock height will stick out a bit and the police wont like it lol

Excuse me for thread hijacking with a noobish question but what's this eg. + or - 20 . I'm sure it's offset but I don't understand how you read it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offset_(wheel)

Yer i kno it was goin to stick a little lol, Was hoping the camber i have now may help but thinking more an more it prob wont maybe look at the safer offset in +27 to +30 area lol. Unless go the path of rolling.

Yer i was lightly look for the link but there is a link of the forums about offsets ect.

post up a current pic of your car and current wheel specs size/offset.

ive ordered 9.5 + 35 on the front. going to to need to run some spacers

and rears i ordered 9.5+20.

reason being that i want both to the equal or the rear stick out more.

yours looks great. any shots of the rear fitment by any chance?
