P/S Pump on R33

Just wondering if there are any mechanics that can give me a heads up on how to diagnose my Power Steering problem. Drving home the other night all of a sudden my steering got heavy, so when I pulled up I checked my tyres, P/S Fluid level, and the pump belt, all was fine..... So now I have to determine whether its the pump itself or the cylinder. Is there any tricks on doing it? And can you rebuild the cylinder and pump yourself? or are they a throw awayable item?

try a fuse in the rear of the car

mine blew one of these, and i had heavy and 4ws constantly
