Hey all!

I'm Tye, and this will officially be my first post, so yay for me! I'm 22, going on 23 in September, and ever since I saw a hotted up 32 GTR in 'Zoom' magazine many years ago, it became a goal to own my own skyline. After looking and searching, I finally bought 'Suzie'! Been mine almost a year now =)

Shes a R33 GTS-T Series 1 (details in sig), and I've never been more happy to own a skyline. After seeing the huge amount of R33's getting around, I specifically didnt want a 'riced' up piece. She might not have the most expensive wheels, the biggest power figure, or even the fastest 1/4 mile time, but I love driving her. Shes simple, yet breath taking. Genuine km's on the clock, genuine accident-free, and meticulously looked after, I'm extremely proud to call her mine. Not being a complete n00b to the turbocharged scene, I've owned a Holden Calibra Turbo (The all wheel drive one), and a Holden Astra SRi-T. In the rear-wheel driven catergory, I also had the pleasure to drive a VN SS commy.

While not being the most extravagant cars going, they gave me a good base to further my driving skills and have a bit of fun too!

I've been a frequent reader of the forums since before I bought Suzie, as I always enjoyed reading the wealth of knowledge available. I finally thought to myself, 'Why not join in?', so here I am! Hopefully in the coming months I'm able to get down to some club events, and when I get the chance, become a paid member. But, for now, I'm happy just to be a part of the community! Anyway, enough rambling from me =)

Welcome to SAU, Tye. You sound very excited and happy to own and drive your Skyline (Suzie), just like me 2 and a half years ago. By the way, my V35 name is "Veve", given after my beloved late guinea pig.

Which state are you in?

Satchi is Japanese for "joy" which is what she brings me

Satchi should be spelt Sachi but I spelt it wrong when signing up here and I just ran with it, sort of gives it a western feel i think

Yeah, a man's pride-and-joy definitely makes him feel young.

WA is great. I've been in WA since 2006, but relocating to Brisbane in a month or so for work so will be missing WA.

Sachi sounds more like "Sushi", than Satchi.

I've been waiting to name mine based on the number plates haha. However, atm my R33 is referred to as "the silver car" and the R32 is referred to as "the little African American", or "the African American", or "el negro", or any other variations of "African American".

Hmm I guess more the latter

I sort of say it "sar-chi"

"sar" like "are"

"chi" like as in tai chi

the kanji (japanese characters) are 幸子

and actually the full japanese name is Sachiko but from what I can tell "ko" means child which makes it "joyful child"

suppose Sachi is more of a nickname

Definately, I've referred to my previous cars with some sort of affection, but actually naming it, and then somehow managing to get everyone I know to call her 'Suzie'.. Priceless

I never realised how many people name their cars, makes me feel not-so-strange lol. Satchi, created by partial typo, but works incredibly well.

VNS, sorry to hear you have to leave. I've done a lot of moving about myself, for work too, funnily enough. But, finally back home for [atleast] now Hahaha, I guess thats why my old man still gives the V8 a boot every now and then!

Skittles, thanks for the welcome I have the pleasure (and some times not so pleasurable time.. lol) of driving Suzie to work.. Chris at RP did an awesome job with the tune, so my fuel economy is still fantastic, considering I'm running quite high boost. Suzie... Skyline... Kinda just had a ring to it Haha, 'el negro' . Love it.

Fairly new on SAU myself, Brissy based, so even though ur leaving WA, VSN, the community is everywhere you go, i'll be more than happy to take a cruise with you when you get over here.. Assuming ur bringing ur baby with you

Fairly new on SAU myself, Brissy based, so even though ur leaving WA, VSN, the community is everywhere you go, i'll be more than happy to take a cruise with you when you get over here.. Assuming ur bringing ur baby with you

Thanks for the offer. Sadly, I am not bringing my V35 to Brissy as I plan to sell it and leave it in Perth to a new caring owner (Hopefully). I don't want it damage in transport as it's in pristine condition and always in a garage, plus don't want to to keep spending money on it.

Also, I would like a R35 one day.

But I would love to attend if there are any open events in Brissy and like to meet new faces from SAU forums. I will try to catch up with V-series owners from Brissy as well.
