Hey guys, before you blow me down, i have searched, like lots, but cannot find if the Z32 afm's fit up to the stock r32 gtr airbox, all posts say say they use pod filters....

so basically, want to hear from you guys with the stock air box in place as i'm keen to keep my engine looking stock.

anyone know if the z32 will bolt up to the airbox, also there seems to be quite some argument whether the z32 will fit into the stock pipework with some stretching, or am i looking to make new pipework.

all else failing i will go for the nismo units, which i know are great, but are also damn expensive........

cheers guys

No they wont

Z32 has 80mm shell

Oem rb26 has 65mm shell

Nismo for direct replacement

Carry on

Yes they will

Z32 has 80mm outter diameter

Oem pipe is 65mm inner diameter, but will stretch

Nismo direct replacement is the easier option, but a z32 will fit and can look factory.

Ohh really??

Yes the rubber piping will stretch, but it does not bolt on to a stock BNR32 airbox

no, the Z32 afm's will not bolt on to the stock airbox. the spacing of the 4 holes on the end of the AFm that bolts to the airbox is different. you may be able to make them fit by drilling new holes in the airbox and using bolts to hold it.

far better option is just buy the nismo afms. they are not that expensive. about the same price as GENUINE Z32 afms if not a bit cheaper. the nismo ones will fit perfectly to your stock airbox and stock intake piping.

looking at your pic, the bolt pattern to the air box is the same then????

Bolt patterns are different but as you can see it can be made to not only fit but also look factory. Nismo is without a doubt the easiest and best option, but is NOT the only option.

I'm going to be straight out honest mate - I'd get a brand new one. I have purchased AFMs in the past that have worked but been f**ked the whole time and caused tuning issues for a long time.

For example - I could never set my Nismo injectors at the proper settings. Never knew why, car was always just a little weird even though it ran fine. CHanged the AFM, and problem solved.

Modded 2 stock 32GTR airboxes now for Z32 AFMs. You have to redrill holes and use 8bolts and nuts, as well as silicone to seal AFM's and nuts. Also check the alignment for the plugs and other piping that surrounds the AFM's in the engine bay.

Best of all, looks factory.
