Your local motorbike shop can sell you a lid for under 100 bucks that meets the standards.

I just went to the local bike shop and got one from there - definitely worth checking out

The one across from Ney Rd?

For something like time attack, would a more expensive (therefore better?), be more suited?

Definitely but these cheap helmets do meet the safety standard so they arent all bad.

depends on how much you think your heads worth i guess?

but under $100 will get you enough to go racing at willowbank

if like me you used it weekly you would invest in a more comfortable lid with a higher safety standard...

but otherwise, why spend money on something to collect dust if only used in a car once a year...

Yep,spot on, i doubt i'll use it more than 6 times a year so i am a bit reluctant to spend too much

like roll cages are for people planning to roll?

just jokes... bunch of open faced units on ebay for $60 at the moment with the Aussie standards sticker...

probably made from ice cream tubs but if it has the sticker than it will pass...
