I am an idiot. Don't know how this happened.

Am I okay getting as much of the diff fluid out of the transfer case that I can and flushing it with ATF or do I have to take the transfer case out and clean it somehow?

Please help!

I was thinking of jacking the car up on one side only and try to get as much out as possible, and then doing the same thing with ATF, and then refilling after flushing.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want it to slip, I'd rather fix it the proper way even if it requires dropping the transmission :(

You filled up the bottle in the boot of the car with diff fluid? Or you poured it into the transfer case via gear knob area?

I hand pumped it in the transfer case via the fill plug. I did not run the car, but I can still feel some in the bottom of the pan.

I'm not sure if it would have gotten on the gears etc. without running the car and if they will slip if I simply just try to jack the car up on one side and flush with ATF.

I am not sure if it matters that I did not fill it through the boot, rather the fill plug above the drain plug under the car.

Not sure anyone has ever made that mistake before ;). Certainly doubt it happens regularly enough for anyone to want to speak in absolute terms :P. I guess it comes down to time and money as to what the 'right' way to fix your mistake is, ask your mechanic?
