I want to gut my xforce metal cat but I know when doing this to stock cats unless you have a straight pipe in it you will have turbalance issues with the flow but since the metal cats are basically designed in a straight pipe design will this still apply to gutting a metal cat? Pic attached.

Thank God I didn't get the xforce, heard so much about them collapsing under heat.

Totally, took mine on a skid pad a few times and the thing fell apart, not to mention the massive restrictions. Took it out and it was already crumbling so I bashed internals out. Job done :)

You'll find its not just xforce.

When you are running 300rwkw, drifting... with the heat being sent down its little surprise they melt as its not what they are designed for.

hope this isnt a dumb question but could you run the cat further back in the car where the difference in temp may mean it wont melt?

You'll find the temperature won't change that much further down the pipe, at idle etc and cruise maybe, but on full song the EGTs would be nearly the same as the OEM position
