hey guys my car has this problem of a high pitch squeal which happens when car is in idle. The noise will happen to come on about after 10mins car has been started, and the noise will go away when im driving or rev the engine.

Just wondering is this serious problem and my car is coming to the 100k service could have to do with that??

i have posted a video so you can see and hear the problem thanks for your help.

Yes my guess is the alternator belt has come too loose when it's cold and when you drive and heat it up, it expands so the sound goes away, what u need to do is get a ratchet wrench and socket to tighten the belt, not too tight or it will reduce the lifespan of the belt

Can anyone second my opinion, I'm a noob at cars

Ah my ears.

The car doesn't know it has a 100k service due. Anyhow that sound is very odd. Ive heard all sorts of belts but no belt has ever sounded like that. It sounds very metallic. You can take the belts off one by one see if the problem goes away but that seriously doesn't sound like a belt. Your bearings in for the timing belt could be on their way out. Too many things to suggest.
