*sigh*

Obviously a generic form that they fill out.

Just so as we are clear, in no way am I advocating that I would prefer a "Rotah" over a "Motah" (lol), but I feel you guys needed to understand that not all rotors are without torque.

Yeeeeaah.

With the addition of turbo chargers, rotary motors are capable of producing torque in usable ranges. You'll be using copious amounts of fuel to achieve this. However the man has a point.

I get it "chad bob", you don't like rotaries, but pointing out what the addition of turbo's do to a rotary without saying the same for a low comp 2.5 V6 is a little silly.

btw, without a turbo, the low compression VQ25det struggles to even move a 1700kg wagon.

Anyway, so what are going to do Josh? Mod the VQ25 or try the 2J?

why people keep thinking they weigh so much... half tank ,2 people, with sounds, 1550kg...

Putan Ls3 in it, much simpler. <- Joking, it side tracked me from argueing about rotaries.

I put mine on the weighbridge at work; 1680kg, roughly 1/2 a tank of fuel, no one on board. No sunroofs or electric seats; just a basic RS.

Minus the sound of the 2JZ... I see no point in the swap.

Will upset the weight dist... Just like dickheads putting RB's into S-chassis.

ever driven one? with the right spring rate you can hardly tell the difference, my s13 has never had a problem with under steer, infact reef the wheel hard enough or turn to sharply and the arse lets go.

dont brainwash ppl with information that is not 100% true

Mmk, it's still a boat anchor motor lol

Not brainwashing people, simply putting my 2cents in like everyone else.

Hey,

I love the m35 stagea. The body style is awesome but I feel the issues with the engine and low turbo life is letting it down. This is where I come to my next question. If later on down the track I was to put a 2jz (personsal favourite) would I still use the m35 ecu to run the cars features minus engine and gearbox control. would I run into any limp mode issues or will that be over as I would have you use a throttle cable. I am after answers not to be critisied guys. I know there are alot of guys who like the engine in the stageas and im not going to say anything. This is just a personal interest for myself.

Cheers josh

In case you are still wanting to go ahead with your 2J conversion

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
