Hi all.

No doubt im going to get flamed here but browsing at turbo upgrades atm and came across this one.

Now for an rb20 im guessing its going to be nothing but lag.

Have read lots about the 20G being great on the 20's but how different is the 25G compared to it?

Even with lag of the 25G is the engine itself going to be able to even handle the power produced by it without some sort of engine build/strengthening?

Specs for the turbo are as follows: 600hp rating ,Compressor housing .70arTurbine housing, .63 T3 flange, Water and oil cooled, 360 degree thrust bearing, BOOST UP TO 30 PSI

If your reading 600hp and thinking wtf in an rb20, i can guarantee it will make nowhere near that amount of power.

Anyway, it's late and just want some advice as to whether it's even considerable or just a waste of a topic lol.

Cheers guys

Ryan

Pretty much a waste, and it sounds like you are looking at the wrong supplier for that line of turbo anyway. Make sure you are looking at Kando Dynamic and not some other ebay crap.

The RB20 will need some work to exceed the 20G's potential.. The T67 is a LOT more turbo and will need a lot more to drive it. Really it is only the compressor thats different.. But you get that.

I ran a trust/greddy td07 25g with a .76 housing on my evo 7. As mentioned, plenty of lag and lots of work is needed to really bring out the potential.

Also one thing is basically on the kind of setup your after as well. Anyone can do whatever they like; each to their own I say.

    • I guess the main advantage is that they start out hard and incompressible, so you can throw them away immediately, rather than waiting until they've done 50k km or something?

    • My muffler was fully customised to suit the car. He mailed me the end caps, I marked up the pipe locations (4 pipes in a single muffler) and he sent it back all welded. Certainly more expensive than a mass produced generic size, but that's hardly surprising. My R32 Exhaust has a Magnaflow muffler in it, if I need generic mufflers then they're usually a safe bet. I've got the Vibrant clamps on the intercooler pipes, just because they're nicer to use than the bolt together ones and not as expensive as a real Wiggins clamp.
    • Yeah. Nah. A grain of sand will take out a ceramic turbine that is doing 100000rpm.
    • Yes, it was checked with the roller rockers installed using a LS7 lifter that had been converted to a solid lifter with a dummy spring at 0 lash with a stock length pushrod. With the Johnson lifters longer pushrods were needed which are now 7.700" and 110 wall. Long thiccbois. People much more knowledgeable than I am are doing the measuring!
