dodes47
Hey guys Noticed something with my 250GT Just wondering if it's normal for my remote keys to lock/unlock the car only within a meter of the car. I tried fresh batteries even the foil trick doesn't seem to help. Yet in my 350 GT i can use it from 10 Meters away. I've got two of these keys and both are doing the same thing. CeffyNSW
I had the same thing happen to me for a few months. In the end my daughter opened the car with the key and set the alarm off. After this it was back to normal. No idae how we set it up! Assume there is a security set up where it is less reactive.... Hope this helps. Chris might be able to add some light. dodes47
Lol. Just tried it. Same thing still. It's annoying to walk away from your car and have to take steps back while pressing the key hoping it would lock it. Not to mention weird lol. Anyone else got any clues? Maybe the actual receiver in the car is on it's way out. Come to think of it, my immobiliser remote works from far away. Only maybe the immobiliser itself? It's a separate remote control and that works a treat. You think this may be causing an interference? Chris Rogers
if you have an addtional transponder unit on there take it off and set it aside. *could* (unlikely) affect range. CeffyNSW
A little more info from my experience. We have 2 remotes and the same thing was happening with both in very different situations consistently. Basically had to be right next to the drivers window for the remote to work. We changed batteries in both to no avail. It went on for anbout 6 months. Was getting close to the point of considering a BCM change! As mentioned previously, my daughter unlocked the car with the key and set the factory alarm off. It stopped and following this all was back to normal and has been since. I have checked the US manuals and G35driver site and there is nothing about this type of instance. Manual only talks about setting hazard and horn reminder and auto locking function. My wife will not let me play with "her car" to see if I can make it happen again!
