The US is an entirely different culture and in some ways this is normal for them. Different strokes etc.

I've been shooting with one of the guys in that thread and in no way is he insane or even out of the ordinary. Just a GT-R lover living in a gun loving society.

This. It'd be no different from us starting a thread in wasteland talking about some normality/variable in our own lives. Case in point: Switzerland, where not only do hundred of thousands of people keep guns in their homes, they are required by law to possess a firearm. And Switzerland is NOTHING like America.

Gun laws come in, death by guns go down and death by knifes go up. True genius really.

Agreed...if someone really wants to kill they will. About all gun laws will do is reduce the frequency of gun accidents. Murder counts themselves will stay the same, people just find other means.

don't forget it's statistically more likely for you or a loved one to get shot with your own gun than actually shoot someone else

and I'd much rather someone rob or attempt to hurt me with a knife than an AK47... I can outrun people with knives... I'm quick but yet to beat a bullet in a sprint

lastly never use assault rifles or handguns for home defense because they have a nasty habit of penetrating walls and killing people you were meant to be defending... shotgun is a much better option... harder to miss and you won't end up shooting little Johnny asleep in his bed

Good thing my son's name is Went :P

Why do people think that the gun laws changed anything?? Look at how many shootings are happening on a weekly basis in Sydney, do you really think they are all registered and the people licenced?? Hell no, they are all black market weapons. Any Joe Bloggs who thinks "Oh I think having a gun would be cool" not only can easily get one, but also cheaply.

The gun laws were just introduced to attempt to implement a stupid control and it failed miserably.

america is f**ked

"oh ya i dont feel safe without a gun, because everyone has them, im totally for having guns"

meanwhile, everyone has a f**king gun, because everyone has a f**king gun

are people retarded?

well actually you can still own quite a decent variety of guns legally in NSW. you just have to go about it the right way. many of you guys would be surprised how cheap a legal, licenced pistol like a glock is to buy...

^^ You sir, have won my eternal respect

On a more serious note though, owning a weapon is like owning a car. You get one because you want one and enjoy using one. Isn't it great to live in a country where we are all consumers ;)

why would anyone want to own a gun?

To shoot other people with guns......

There was a clip in a Roger Moore movie about the founding of America and why everyone is afraid and has guns...

protection against Osama, call of duty, second amendment, the price of a quarter pounder with cheese, cowboys n indians, cops and robbers....

this guy finds they just bring out his sexyback

Not American but it still really opens your eyes, how different the rest of the world can be at times...

If I shot at someone's tyre because they wouldn't stop I dare say I would lose my job. :/

Shows how different their culture is generally, the bloke jumped out and started pushing him! I had a cop pull a gun on me years ago, and i flattened myself on the ground like a bitch and dribbled in my pants. I cant believe you would have the balls/stupidity to then get out and start pushing him around.

    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise

    • Was that Australia Delivered Duncan? Does it have siren etc?   I used to have remote start on an old 32 two decades ago, it was a cool feature. I used to wake up early in winter for work. Start it and by the time i was out the door a few minutes later the engine was warmed up and the heaters had the car toasty. It was great.    I don’t mine the ambience lighting.  I drive a western star and it has footwell lights and ambient lighting and it’s great! From the pics of seen of them installed in a skyline I think it’s a nice touch
