Hello,

My rear spoiler is unpainted but primed. It's ready to be mounted but I want to get it painted first.

I already know my cars colour code, GV1 Black.

I just want to ask where I could get it painted properly near Sydney 2155

Are there car painting companies? Do smash repairs do this?

What about those ones that say they do colour code touch up painting?

And also, if anyone had any previous paint work done similar to my situation

maybe somewhere near The Hills area, Seven Hills or Blacktown.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah, GV1 is Black Pearl according to the Paint Codes in SAU forum.

I've never had any car painting done before so I was unsure of where to have it done.

I just wanted to know the type of places that offer painting services.

I didn't want to go, for example, to a car mechanic and ask for painting.

Going to get quotes from nearby panel shops soon. thumbsup.gif

Still looking for other peoples stories on their car spoiler/bumper painting with the company you did it with, what part, if they did a good or bad job, etc.

I'm curious, How do they match the colour code anyway? GV1 - Black Pearl seems to only be a skyline colour. wacko.gif

I resprayed the spoiler of a vr-x lancer today, matched the metallic from the code under the bonnet. Really good job. As I said, any panel beaters have the ability to respray stuff, and would only charge a couple of hundred to do the job..

yeah any panel beater/smash repair shop can do it really. Your car has a blue plate in the engine bay with the paint codes that the body shop will then use to match the paint, simple as that

Howd it turn out mate?

Went to a few panel beaters for quotes..

One said $400

Another said $500

Went to carmate $200 so I was like GO GO GO

Turns out the piece of crap spoiler I ordered sucked. It wasn't made properly. The legs were screwed onto the spoiler a bit too narrow.

So I need to also pay for fitting. Carmates price for Painting and Fitting was $350

When they started painting, I looked up carmate reviews online saying that carmate sucks. So I got worried.

But it turned out good. They matched the colour and handled the fitting very well but at the cost of $350. Well anyways.. Thx Carmate thumbsup.gif

If I wasn't in such a rush, I would of tried X Racing Motorsport and Team JetSpeed to get more quotes. Some good reviews for them.

afaik, from what i've read on carmate reviews the issue is with the products they source rather than their painting & fitting. But really anything with fibreglass body parts, chances are you're gonna need some custom fitting to make it sit right.

personally I had an old GTR style spoiler on my old GTT supposedly bought from carmate (I bought it off a guy on the forums) & it was fine, had it painted by a local shop & fitted it myself with no issues
