Well results are on Natsoft for Calder Round

http://www.natsoft.c...09/2011.CPTD.S4

Looks like entries were low? Well done the competitors from SAU that ran but can't compare your times to anything to know how well you went...

Any feedback from drivers or spectators on the event?

Congrats to John/ssxRicho for taking out Street class, and Russ for Tuner class fastest RWD, and 2nd outright.

All in all a good day, not enough track time, but for good reason.

Something killed the timing system hard line so it all had to be done manually. So they had to change our format to one car out at a time, so it was a warmup, two flyers and a cool down. This was bad especially for us Sunday only guys trying to get some vision of the course. Made for a few funny moments though - I personally went through the drifters course and Russ made up heaps of time bypassing chicanes.

After complaints they changed the format to four out at once, and managed to time it which was much better.

The track was loads of fun. That banked turn is something else pulling close to 2g's you feel like your face is about to melt off. The transition on to the bank and some decent bumps make for great fun. Some sessions were red flagged due to tyres on the track, so they need to be tied together better.

Two days would have been great, was only ready to start working on times in the last session so a practice day would have gone a long way for me. The more experienced guys took well to it.

Would do it again for sure. Good to do something a little different. The more entries and support given for these guys, the more they can polish the event to give us something else to look forward to on the motorsport calendar.

great fun wish i had big brakes cos standards just dont hold up to long LOL!!!! had a ball would love to do it again and have the car better set up for it.

Also Congrats to Adam Newton (Techsport EVO) - Taking outright honours as well. :)

Was a clean sweep for SAU-Vic members (Adam is a member too) in all classes.

Massive Congrats to Richo for winning Street class with a 58.2 (super huge balls to do that on near dead rubber) on the last session of the day to beat my 58.7 ... before i hit a tyre barrier and tookout my front lip, under-tray and what not else I've not noticed yet :D

Pretty happy with my car overall given it's the first real track event I've done in it, need MOAR!

Brian - I would say anything under 56sec on semis was moving, and anything under 1min on streets was the same.

Paul - Totally agree with your post/thoughts, was good to meet you as well finally.

Huge Congrats to Amy, Andrew, Brett & other staff from Trackbattle/ADGP - some minor niggles but overall a great 2 days.

I say do it @ the Thunderdome again next year, the bank is just fken awesome.

Ah yes thats right big red - im still a bit new! Congrats Adam for a great drive. My Mrs said "he seems to have complete disregard for the underneath of his car!".

Also you Ash - you guys must have really been moving to get those times on street rubber. Whats wrong with me lol!

G-plot of my last session.

lol complete disregard doesn't do that bloke any justice, far worse than that... But it's what makes him quick!

You just need to settle into the car a bit more mate. I daily drive mine so I've a fair idea of how it handles. Plus I've done a few SAU-Vic DECA days, which are a good place to test out grip levels etc. You should come along to those too.

Interesting plot of the G's - you logging that from the onboard sensors?

Nah not the onboard sensors - the vbox works it out from GPS & time. Pretty sweet.

Yep next DECA will be there with bells on.

Richo had i think 2 sessions of mine on his GoPro, so no doubt he'll upload that @ some point.

There were heaps of other cameras too so hopefully more footage should appear.

Here is one Martin has already done

lol awesome commentary!

When I watched the first video of the circuit I thought to self, "that corner is prime for a big cut".... and there ya go, the fast guys cut it.

It can only be expected the fast competitors would cut it, because every other fast guy would cut it, so yeah, you have to cut it! lol

It should have had a barrier or tyre post there really.....

Ye there were cones put there later on!

On the first day hardly anyone was cutting, and then on the Sunday one started doing it, so everyone did it in the next session haha, then cones arrived!
