i have recently bought a r33 gtst series 1.5

im brand new to owning a skyline and have never driven turbos before

i feel i have an issue with the cars performance however

it seems to lack power and a bit of it on the dyno it only put out 175.9rwhp

mods are front mount k&n pod exhaust n cold air intake

it has relitively new splitfire coil packs i recently purchased a turbosmart b/c

however when i hook it up it starts to boost normal and then dies as if the ecu (standard) is cuttin the fuel or spark

even when its turned all the way off so it has been removed

however the car still seems to be over fueling or watever

i have changed plugs, fuel filtet, cleaned a/f a/f hotwire tried a diff ecu still standard reset original ecu

and i removed stock 2 stage boost cause when stage 2 kicked it in it done nothin

any ideas would be greatly appreciated

it doesnt even half to be at a high rpm it dies at about half throttle

and when its not in if im drivin in fifth at half throttle doinn 100kph it does the same thing

and from time to time feels like the power is surging

what boost are you trying to run? do you have an aftermarket gauge to see what boost you are running? remember that the stock gauge doesn't read in psi and isn't that accurate.

my guess is that you are trying to run too much boost and the ecu is cutting the power. even with the boost controller wound all the way down this is probably still the problem. first thing to do would be to get a gauge to see what the boost is doing.

I still reckon its spark related if its still doin the same thing when u took me for a drive. Spark is deffo braking down, thats probs why it runs so shite when u try and put more boost in it. My vl was doin the same thing when i first turbod it, changed the leads and spark plugs and it fixed it. I thought u had fixed the problem?
