Watch out!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Just a bit of a warning guys.

Last night leaving work I hit and launched off a large piece of that 3/4 concrete kerbing that had been moved onto the road. I'm not sure how it got there but I know this area very well as I drive home this way every time I drive to work. So this is just a small warning just because you think you know a piece of road doesnt mean that its going to be the same every time you drive along it.

I know this is pretty basic stuff but I thought that too before last night.

In regards to the GTR she looks ok in the light of day but I'm just about to go and have a good look underneath. Rims are fine due to the fact I hit the kerbing pretty much square on, nothing has sprung a leak from the hit. But at the very least I'm going to need a bloody good wheel alignment.

Cheers.

SO true Rhino,

I remember pulling into my road off Warnbro Snd Ave. (Troy would know where this is)

And being a corner, I couldnt see the BRICK i hit square-on. Needed a wheel alignment and balance after that... not to mention a new pair of underwear....

This was the carpark at Riverton forum out the front of the Commonwealth ATM.

Well just had a really good look around, got the car up on stands, removed the plastic shroud under the front of the car etc.

All the rims are exactly the same as before the mishap, so thats a relief :D

It seems a powersteering hose has had a slow leak but I'm not sure if it is an old or new one as there aren't any spot marks on the driveway. I figure it's just a buildup over the years.

All the suspension looks fine shocks, springs, castor rods, bushes etc.

BUT!!.......

The car now pulls to the left slightly so a wheel alignment and fiddle with my suspension geometry is on the cards. I'll get Wilkinson sus. to have a fiddle sometime before the MC day.

So to conclude everything seems to be A-OK but christ I had a bad nights sleep worrying about stuff:confused:

Cheers.

Well,

The suspension is totally fine as are the two right rims but it turns out the two left ones are slightly buckled. So new rims here I come...anyone know someone with some R33 GTR rims??

Or anyone who wants to buy the 2 good rims or all 4??, will throw in the GGrids they were wearing when the car came in from japan.

Cheers.

Are you sure it's the power steering leaking and not one of the suspension bushes broken after the knock?

I had this and found that the front tie rod bushes are silicon filled and leak with age and the odd kerb.

Just look under the front of the car with the splash tray removed and you will see them as the suspension part that is towards the front the most ......
