Has anyone actually tried to run the stock afm with a higher boost setup? After my testing last night I noticed that even at 17/18psi it wasnt hitting fuel cut. It did start to ping from lack of fuel I'm guessing but it didn't shut down, just kept pulling. I might do the nistune and 440cc injectors first and just see how it goes on the dyno.

They usually run out of resolution at or around 225rwkw ish.

I would very strongly suggest you stop leaning on the car until you get the Nistune and dyno the car. Although they usually run rich with more boost on stock ECU's, if you are hearing audible pinging in the car you are doing damage. What fuel pump?

Before you go on the dyno make sure you have all your exhaust mods sorted, fuel pump, injectors etc sorted.

I was only leaning on it to see if i could get the boost below a reasonable level as I keep getting boost cut. It now set as low as possible (7psi) provided I don't go above 4000rpm.

I was just curious as z32s are not the cheapest part to replace.

Ok so shopping list - nistune type 4 board, deatschwerks 440cc injectors, z32 afm, wgnc34 to z32 afm wiring adapter loom,

Will the stock pump support 250awkw or should I get a walbro/Bosch?

What part number walbro is it I need? I've found the following at kudos motorsport. I can drive down there to get the parts which makes me feel a little bit better too.

Bosch afm - $297

Afm plug - $33

Deatschwerks 440cc injectors - $550

Walbro in tank gss-341 or gss-342 - $121

why are you going with such small injectors, you can get 550cc injectors for that sort of money,

pretty sure standard is 370cc, so 440cc isn't a huge upgrade, especially when you're trying ot add 100kw

Output of your stock pump is not the problem so much as the fact that it is OLD. Deatschwerks pump outperforms Walbro and Bosch although it doesn't have a track record as yet but the flow chart looks good.

That's sounds fair. I with the prices pretty much the same I think I will get a walbro, just as I know they have a good rep. Just need to know if I need the inlet/outlet in line or 180 apart.

Problem with the S2's is the little map sensor near the BOV. Sure the stock AFM will max out eventually but the MAP will cut power well before then, mine was cutting out at around 14-15psi.

If your not keen on shelling out for a Z32 just get nistune done and disable the factory MAP protection when you get it tuned, you might get away with the stock MAF depending on what power your chasing.

You can just pull the vacuum line to the sensor to stop the overboost protection, but with only a stock tune you'll be playing russian roulette with your engine.

I'd your after some positive feedback on deastchwerks injectors, I've been running them for about 3 years now, no issues at all. They were basically drop in, just had to space the fuel rail out with some 3mm washers.

Also a little tip if you do go the Z32 path, I found out after I shelled out for a tomei plug, but the VL RB30 MAF uses the same plug as a Z32 MAF. If you need a wiring diagram I cam help you out, I posted up one in a thread a while ago.

Quick question, is it ok if I bolt on z32 AFM prior to getting Nistuned?

no, different resolution

unless you wire it up and drive with it unplugged and can drive it under 2000 rpm (but this is not a good thing to try unless you blow a cooler pipe and have no tools to put it back on with)

Thank for that!

Qwk32 if you can post a link or pm me a copy of the wiring diagram it would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone confirm how big of injectors I will need for 250kw? If 440cc is big enough I would prefer to save myself some money.

Lilcrash; I think we're at the same point in modding and possibly after the same level numbers, both power and $$.

440cc are big enough as they will flow around 440hp at the flywheel. However if you the price is similar I would choose injectors with a little more headroom like the Deka 600cc in case you choose to go for a larger turbo or if ethanol based fuels become a possibility.

Hey Pipster those injectors on ebay are cheap!! Will it fit on my Neo RB25DET without mods to the fuel rail/ other bits??? Are they good injectors? thanks

i think so, check the thread in the diy section

you will definitely need new plugs but i think the length is correct (may need small spacers on the fuel rail)
