need aluminium to make brackets

i got my new trust catch can but didnt come with brackets for mounting so i need somewhere that can either make brackets to spec or supply a small sheet of relativelly thick (prolly 8mm) aluminium, preferrably polished to match the catch can so i can mount it properly

any ideas of where to stick it ?

At my work we have heaps of Aluminium, dun think is as thick as u want it, but ill have a check fo ya!!

ok sweet,. coz the can itself weighs about 3-4kgs so it need something pretty sturdy to hold it in there

haha in the enginebay, duh, only place i can think is just next to the fuse box, dunno where im gunna fix brackets though :s

we have aluminium we use for shower screens lol you want that? they arent sheets though lol

lol no digital camera at work, but look at your shower screens and see all the different bits of aluminium on it, we most likely have same or similar in stock, and plenty of off cuts

does the bracket have to be bling bling too? I've got a GTR catch can bracket... its pretty dull tho. Fits in front of the fuse box of an R32.

nah i can polish it myself if need be but i doibt u'll see it, u got a pic of it ? the trust can has two screw holes in it for mounting

u can always go to capril aluminium...theres one on princess rd S.E burbs. they always have off cuts in the bargain bin that u can pick up for a couple bucks.

If u dont have abs then stick it near the passenger side firewall. Otherwise u can use 1 of the power steering brackets to mount it.

i dont have ABS, but isnt it a bit hot over that side for the can ?

yah it is but thats where it sits...most people(well some) when they get a aftermarket dump/front pipe they should put some kind of heat shield near that area especially when doing some track work etc where alot of heat in generated.

I wouldnt worry about 2 much heat with stock turbo, Plus u still got the stock heat shield there.

Sorry bruv, the onlu aluminium we have @ work is about 3-5mm thick but semi hollowed inside, if u bent it it wouldnt hold ur catch can.

go to a hardware store i'm sure u would find some kind of brackets etc that you should be able to use

can't you just use one of them brackets that you use to hold pipes down... like gutter brackets n stuff. Failing that an aluminum ring clamp and rivet it to the inside of your car. Minimal fuss.
